Quiet, clean, comfortable. Beautiful view of the mountain. Staff is very friendly and always ready to help. The building is also eco-friendly and energy-saving efficient, so that was a big plus for me. Thank you!
My wife and I had a lovely and relaxing time and we were very pleased to have our dog with us. They provided dog bowls, a dog bed, biscuits. The Trout River behind the Inn is lovely. My wife and I were both very impressed by the owner going out of his way to provide me with vegetarian sausage in the morning.
My wife and I (both retired) stayed at this hotel during a 9-day road trip through Vermont and New Hampshire. We found the Willoughvale Inn on Expedia. The setting is unbelievable. We encountered a few problems: The bed was terribly hard and the restaurant ran out of many items on the menu. These shortcomings didn't bother us terribly. The staff is wonderful and the food we did have was wonderful. I would not hesitate to stay here again, nor would I hesitate to recommend it to friends or other travelers. Its location seems a bit remote, but the reward is worth the effort it takes to get there.

We loved the hostess, Maureen, and her beautiful house. We were there in the cold of winter right after a big snowstorm and the house was warm and friendly. There is a TV room with comfy big seating, the guest room we stayed in was large with a little alcove with sink. Shared a bathroom across the hall, but the other guests were considerate and I don't believe any of us got on each other's nerves. We all had breakfast together, as it happened, and enjoyed each other's company a lot. Breakfast was delicious--pumpkin pancakes with toasted pecans and maple syrup, fresh fruit, yummy coffee, tea and hot chocolate. Would love to see the house in summer--it has a big front porch and it would be nice to sit on and read or chat. Big front yard, plenty of parking behind the house. I'd go back in a minute if I needed a night in St. Johnsbury, VT!
Ice stayed at man chain hotels but casted to write a review for this one for the first time because it was that pleasant. The failure was new, quality of everything in the rooms were awesome... From the sheets to pillows to the bed. Nice place!
