Location detracts from guests comfort

Posted 29-Jul-2015
Pros: Mattress was comfortable and wifi was provided, although the service was slow.
Cons: Carpet, paint and woodwork needed to be updated throughout the hotel. Locating a pub under hotel windows is a bad idea in pretty much any location.
Location: Souvenir shopping, lots of dining choices, and historic walking tour in Jasper; hiking, lakes, and mountain scenery nearby.
We checked into Whistler's Inn to find that there were 13 parking spaces for the whole hotel. We ended up parking a couple of blocks away in a public parking lot. When we had drug our suitcases to the hotel (the "unloading" spaces were full), we found that the door to our room was located immediately next to the ice machine. The room itself was clean and the mattress was comfortable. The bathroom looked like it had been recently updated, which was nice. When it came time to turn in, we realized that our open windows were directly above the pub on the first floor and the accompanying talking of patrons going in and out until closing time. We were able to close the windows and turn the A/C on, but it would have been nice to take advantage of that cool, clean, mountain air.

central location

When I walked up to the hotel, I was surprised by how old it was, lobby was old looking but comfy, sort of an old living room feeling. But the rooms were updated, clean, nice and cool. Front desk service was excellent, friendly. I would stay again at this hotel.

駅前のホテル

Posted 19-Jul-2015
Pros: 駅から近く、町の真ん中にあること。
Cons: 入口が分かりにくい事
VIA鉄道を利用してジャスパーへ行きました。16時到着予定が2時間半おくれての到着でしたが、駅の前だったのですぐにチェックインできました。食事、ランドリー等すぐ近くて便利でした。

We stayed one night and got upgraded to a better room with no extra charge. The room was great with a balcony and very spacious.

Centrally located accomodation in Jasper

Posted 13-Jul-2015
Pros: The size of the room (112). The pub was good for a drink and pub food.
Cons: Parking was not available on site which was disappointing. The lobby etc could do with a refresh.
Location: Loved Jasper. We went to Lake Maligne and did the boat tour to Spirit Island. We also did a short hike to Moose lake which was easy and pleasant.
On arrival was a little concerned by the condition of the hotel as the lobby looked worn and a little worse for wear. However. The room was comfortable and clean.

Needs a makeover....

Posted 12-Jul-2015
Pros: Just being in Jasper is fun
Cons: Decor, bathrooms, HVAC, noise levels and parking.
Location: The hotel is fairly central and easy to find. Lots of gift shops and places to eat close by.
Not much to say, it's a small hotel with very limited parking and loud air conditioning. There was some kind of fan that came on every day at 6.30am that shocked me awake - it sounds like some big aircraft engine starting up. It is very loud! The room was smallish for two queen beds and the bathroom, while clean was very basic - not even a pulse shower head. The pub seems geared a little toward the younger crowd and actually one of the front desk staff was quite heavily tattooed - not an issue for me but some may find this odd.

Whistler's Inn

Close to ALL amenities in jasper. Clean rooms. Hallways do not have the nicest smell but it is the only downside to this hotel.

Comfortable hotel, near the train

Posted 09-Jul-2015
Ideal place to stay if you're traveling via train. Room was clean and comfortable, much nicer than expected given the price. Staff were cheerful and helpful. Would stay here again.
