Aside from a fire alarm pull in the night, our stay was good. The place has some old charm to it and it in un-pretentious. There is a pool and hot tub, game room, laundry room and billiards room. I would go again.
This old hotel goes out of its way to maintain it's historic charm. It has cool antiqe furniture and funky patterned carpets over creaky floors. It is a short walk outside the hustle and bussel of the touristy waterfront. You pass by older Victorian homes on the walk which makes it all that much more quaint. The room was clean and comfortable and had the old style hot and cold ribbing shower. Ice cold lemon water or coffee in the lobby added a nice touch.

My grandson has nut allergies. Housekeeping did excellent job washing everything off in the room. The restaurant staff went to extra length to make sure the food was not contaminated with nuts. My grandson stayed healthy due to the staff efforts. The hotel is located close to downtown, great location.
We stayed for 1 night and wished for more. Our suite was beautiful - just what we needed for our family of 5 adults. Check-in went smoothly - very friendly staff. The lobby was spotless and welcoming. We could walk everywhere which made it very convenient. Just wish we could have stayed longer!

"Wonderfully located & great retreat from the day!"
The Embassy was an older hotel that has been renovated. The room was close to most of the local attractions and only 1 block from the ocean front but was also a spacious and a wonderful retreat from our busy days of exploring Victoria.
"Beautiful inn with water on 3 sides close to all. "
I arrived early, at 9:15 am and thought I would have to drop my bags and wander around till check in but my room was ready. I was very impressed and it made my first day so easy. I had an in room spa treatment that was fabulous. The staff were all friendly and helpful. I ate at Aura twice and had great food. The servers were wonderful and I learned about Victoria made gin (delicious!) and bought some to take home at the local distillery.
Overall it was a great trip and I will definitely return.
Hotel with excellent location and very close (walking distance) to the Clippler Ferry and important buildings in the harbord. The kitchen in the room offered an excellent alternative to cook fresh fish.

A great hotel in Victoria, BC with an excellent harbor location, offering a delicious complimentary full breakfast …More
A delightful harbor hotel that offers the spaciousness of a suite and a kitchen. The staff was responsive in every way possible and friendly. The free breakfast was lovely and peaceful -- without all the TVs in your face. Instead you look out to a flowering garden. Also, the Admiral Inn is a special place to quietly rest your head in comfort each night. Ahhhh! This hotel is ideally situated a short walk from IMAX/Museum, the Government Buildings, the Empress, restaurants and shopping. Walk the other way to Fishermen's Wharf and Beacon Hill Park. It is adjacent to the ferries. Its condition is older, a little worn, yet clean and well maintained. It is hard to find an affordable suite hotel in downtown Victoria. We will be back!
James Bay is the oldest neighborhood in Victoria and is full of colonial charm, sprinkled with grand Victorian houses and perfectly manicured private gardens. It is located close to downtown on the south side of the harbor and offers gems such as Fisherman's Wharf marina, Beacon Hill Park, and the Strait of Juan de Fuca. The Royal British Columbia Museum is a must-see for history buffs.
