“Very nice hotel”
We enjoyed the decor of the hotel - the nicest we have seen in 3 star hotels in India. Each room is unique. Rooms are clean and quiet. Good restaurant with live music/dance show. Excellent breakfast! Helpful staff. The only thing that didn't fit otherwise perfect picture were the "white" towels that looked kind of grey. They were clean, but maybe washed way too many times. Definitely would recommend this hotel.
“The Jaipurs' Palace”
Don't expect to much! The hotel is very simple but the building is really nice. It is loud in the evening and night - hotel staff. The food in the restaurant on the roofdeck is very good. The travel agency working with the hotel is good.
“Ridiculously Ornate!”
After spending weeks trying to decide which hotel to book in Delhi on account that most of the Hotels either had such bad reviews or were really expensive, it was relief to know that my dilema with regards to hotels in Jaipur was limited to wether to choose this hotel or its sister hotel. The Umaid Bhawan is an oasis of splendour and sanity in the hustle and bustle of Jaipur. I caught the train in from Delhi and even though the Train arrived late the pick up they sent waited the whole 2 hours. The hotel is ridiculously ornate! It could be tourist attraction in its own right. I loved the place. I spent 3 nights there in one of their suites - I got upgraded on arrival! The rooms were clean and spacious with many period furnishing in keeping with the rest of the Hotel. You spend hours wandering around the place taking in its splendour. All the staff were friendly withoout being overbearing and helpful whenever called upon. The breakfast was okay but then I am not a big breakfast person however the evening meals I had there were mouth watering. I would certain go back again then again I ought to try the sister hotel
“Worth every penny spent!”
We stayed at the Umaid Bhawan Hotel for 3 nights/4 days. The 1st thing one would notice on arrival is the ornately decorated walls, ceilings and furniture. Reminiscence of the Rajasthani Royalty. The hotel itself is designed like a fort with a decent Roof Top restaurant and bar. Food is good with a blend of continental and indian dishes on the menu. Most of the hotel staff were very warm and welcoming (barring a few exceptions we bumped into). The facilities available are top notch including free Wifi access, LCD TV's, swimming pool, gift shop. The reception desk arranged cabs for us to do some sight-seeing and shopping (They have their own travel agency). We had a whale of a time just soaking in the atmosphere...relaxing, eating, shopping, making videos.... Overall a fun experience if you are looking to get away from your daily grind. Definitely worth the money. We might as well go back there sometime :)
“like jaipur”
this hotel was amazing! the decor, antiques and ambience were delightful. the staff was helpful and the restaurant was superb. i definitely recommend this hotel. the bed wasn't super comfortable but otherwise, this place rocks!
“Umaid Bhawan”
Despite an unwelcome start to our stay of 9 days this was an adequate hotel. Apart from the night manager who was next to useless the staff were friendly and keen to be of service. Restaurant was quite good although breakfast was a bit repetitive. A reasonable place to stay especially if only for one or two nights and you turn up at a normal time
“Wonderful Hotel”
We stayed at the Umaid Bhawan for three days and were very pleased with the experience. The hotel was decorated in a very ornate manner but it wasn't so over the top that it became kitschy. We liked it. The rooms were well decorated and were big, clean, and comfortable. The food and the service in the hotel rooftop restaurant were excellent. In fact, I would recommend the restaurant to people coming to Jaipur, even if they aren't staying at the hotel. The hotel was located on a relatively quiet street, but it was very easy to get an auto rickshaw into towh. The staff was also able to arrange car services for longer trips. I highly recommend this hotel.
“Good heritage hotel.”
Good hotel with number of interesting features. Staff were helpful and we had a enjoyable stay.
“Dirty Hotel with No Customer Service.”
The hotel service is really bad - they generally don't answer when calling the front desk and my room was very dirty and leftover hair and other undesirable objects in my room. The room was really stale and smelled bad. The shower also would not drain and either very hot water came out or very cold water. Very uncomfortable. The hotel food was not bad, but again the service by the staff made the stay miserable as they really have a bad attitude when confronting guests.
“A real gem....”
This was a great find for us. Rooms big and comfortable. Staff overall very friendly. Hotel has a decent rooftop restaurant/bar. Only minor negative was wifi didn't work in our room. We were on the 4th floor though. May have had something to do with it. It did work at most places in hotel though. Would definitely stay there again.
