“Beautiful location, comfortable hotel, very friendly and courteous employees!”
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Amelia Hotel by the Beach very much. We are looking forward our next trip to Amelia Island and of course we will be staying at the same hotel.
“Nice hotel, great location”
The only issue we had was the sheets were a bit rough....the room was nice, location was great. Staff was great.
“Nice Hotel close to beach”
Hotel was great if you do alot of site seeing and time at beach. If you plan on hanging out at hotel would get a condo. Nice hotel, clean, good breakfast, staff willing to help. We had a good time.
“Amelia at the Beach”
A great option when visiting the Island!
“dedicated to please”
Room had an unusual odor after first night. No questions asked, they changed and upgraded us to an ocean view room. Rooms were clean but pretty basic. Breakfast was just adequate. Staff friendly.
“Can't wait to return”
I spent three days here with my family. The room was very clean. Location was very handy, right across the street from the beach. Not a busy street, easy to cross with two young ones. Breakfast was delicious. Best part about the hotel is the staff. Everyone working was very friendly and helpful. Thank you for a wonderful long weekend. We will be back.
“Adequate”
We were returning from a weekend in Savannah and wanted to stay close to JAX to catch a flight in the morning, and be near the beach. It's a good location, and it is very close to the beach, There are some restaurants close by, but the desk staff seemed to encourage us to venture to the Old town area. We did, but it seemed pretty dead. Perhaps it is better during the "on season" and when the weather is nicer (we were there in early October and it was rainy and we were there only for the Sunday night before Columbus Day). As for the room, our a/c didn't work very well. The linens were in need of replacement and the bathrooms were also starved for attention. We didn't use the pool, but it looked like it could use some attention as well -- perhaps it was closed for the season. We also had some loud neighbors that partied until 1am, and this soured the experience quite a bit for us. We had to call the front desk multiple times to get them to keep it down. The front desk called the room, but it seemed to be met with little response -- it would have been better if they had personally visited the room. All in all, we probably got what we paid for. It's an average place at best. Compared to let's say a Holiday Inn Express, it's not as nice. Compared to a Motel 6, it's quite nice. It's very La Quinta-esque, if you will.
“Good Value”
Older building, but well-maintained. Good hot breakfast. Clean room and facilities
“Very Nice!”
Amelia Hotel at the Beach was quite a pleasant experience. I rated it a 5 out of 5. The staff was friendly and attentive. The room was clean and very comfortable. The king size bed was also very comfortable. There are many nearby shops and restaurants to go to, all within walking distance of the hotel. Overall it was a very convenient and pleasant stay. A great value for your money.
“Can't wait to return!”
What a great hotel! We arrived duriing a violent storm that knocked out power to the island. The owner and her staff made us comfortable in the lobby with towels and free drinks until power returned. They even gave us an unsolicited room upgrade for the inconvenience! Thruout our stay the staff was consistently friendly and helpful. The room was exceptionally well designed for a beach hotel, with a large tile entrance for sandy shoes and clothing. Exceptional access to the ocean. The public beach across the street is amazingly beautiful and virtually deserted, no matter the weather or time of day. Also, the best seafood we found on the island was a short walk away. Great running and bike routes are everywhere, including the Egan's Greenway system of nature trails. We considered changing our plans so we could stay longer. You'll love this place!!
