“Great service”
The service, location and cleanliness were great. The food could have been more varied.
“Amazing Place to Relax”
Beautiful Place
“Make the best of it”
Just what I read in most of the reviews. The beds are extremely uncomfortable. The food was ok. We ate supper out 4 of the 7 nites. Restaurants around hotel were great. Breakfast/lunch was ok at hotel. Drinks were not good. Ran out of beer 3 to 4 days. Other drinks were just ok. The staff is amazing. Always friendly. Always cleaning. They all went out of the way for all of us. Beach was awesome. Pool was very nice. Overall we had a blast but food, drinks and bed could have been better. On the 7th day I was excited to go home:(
“Not the regular adult all inclusive”
Overall the staff were excellent, food was good, rooms were beat up but clean, and pool was newer. My biggest complaint is that the Tesoro opens itself for day passes to Mexican families. That alone is fine, but due to the multitude of children that the day passes bring in, count on lots of children in the pool area and restaurant.. If you also are traveling with small children, this may be the place for you. We won't return!
“We loved Ixtapa and will go back.”
The travel plans were well organized. The hotel was a bit run down and the rooms had a musty smell due to the warm weather. The shower was great. The room was cleaned every day. The hotel personnel were great and we felt very safe. The beach was amazing along with the weather. Overall our travel and stay was great.
“get what you pay for”
The Tesoro is basically a "you get what you pay for" kind of hotel. We knew that before booking. We've stayed there before. We got a great deal, so we didn't mind going a little less luxurious on our vacation. It is an older hotel, but kept up very nicely. Staff are great. The activities people work their butts off. Drinks are not top of the line. Food is ok, but not great. Location is good. Vacation is what you make of it. We had a blast here, but we've stayed at nicer resorts too.
“We love Ixtapa”
The hotel room was clean, had a nice mini fridge for cold drinks and close to the elevator. Breakfast and lunch were fine but suggest eating out for dinner. The food is the same everyday and nothing special-just a fair buffet. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel is smaller ,and I like that ,but the upper floors have been sold for condos so if you're going for a view this probably isn't the place. They also sell passes for the weekends to the vacationing Mexican families and day passes so can get quite crowded. But it is within walking distance to the shopping and eating area of Ixtapa and they do have a guard at the parking lot-we rented a car and free parking-so I appreciated that. All and all a nice clean place but having been to Ixtapa several times next time I would stay in Zihua. They have turned many of the hotels into all-inclusive and this has hurt the restaurants in Ixtapa.Too bad.
“Tesoro means treasure in Spanish....this hotel was no treasure”
Perhaps as could be expected from a hotel that upon check in hands you the television remote control in an envelope and advises it is a $100 if it is not returned upon check out, this hotel was not great by far. The only saving grace here was that the staff were very accomodating, however I assume that was probably due to their experience dealing with the numerous complaints that they received on a regualr basis. We changed rooms 4 times with the last room being marginal, the others worse. Beds all rock hard, food was below average at best (very Mexican menu, bad Mexican at that), mould in all rooms. This hotel caters to the locals (not international guests) and on Thursday - Sunday it is packed with locals and has a very diferent feel from any Mexican resorts that I have visited. Do yourself a BIG favor and spend a few extra dollars (or not, it was low priced but definately not worth even that) and stay somewhere else.
“"Never Again"”
No one should be subjected to stay at Tesoro.
“A place to stay”
All in all, not bad. Ixtapa doesn't seem to be as big of a tourist town like some other Mexico destinations. Everyone was very friendly, and as helpful as they could be with very broken English & my very little Spanish.
