“Good for family with kids”
This resort is OK for the money if you have kids, the food is less than OK, same food over and over. The only restaurant (Italian) is BAD.This resort is clean and the people work hard to keep it clean. All the rooms has ocean view so don't pay extra for one!!!..the rooms are very simple they need new TV's,the bathrooms are old and smell really bad (drain problems maybe). Next time I will pay more for a better resort.
“Great!”
Excellent food, comfortable. Very friendly and helpful staff. Maybe more focused on families and kids, would not recommend it for an adult group trip. Night life is not so close to the hotel.
“Great Hotel In Ixtapa”
Great Hotel!! We had a wonderful stay and the "STAFF" was wonderful and they took care of all our request. I would stay again. The quality of the food was okay. Many of the same things over and over. We went into Z for a couple of meals and both were great. Take the Sunset Cruise well worth the trip.
“Wish I never had to leave!”
I just got back from the Park Royal and I thought it was excellent. Everyone there is really nice and extremely helpfull. Everything was very clean and everytime you walked around the resort you would see people cleaning various things. I thought the food was very good for an all inclusive. We only ate at the Itiliano resteraunt once but it was good too. We just didn't think is was that much better than the buffet style dinner so not worth making the reservations and dressing up. The rooms were very nice and we had a very nice view as well as the rest of the rooms as far as I could tell. We usually left a couple bucks for the maid and they did a very nice job and even made little animals with rolled up towels and flower pedals. They do try to sell you a timeshare (or membership as they call it) but were not to pushy. I did talk to a guy about it and thought about it but didn't buy. He helped me book a fishing trip and even took me to the dock and to a store to buy some sandals another time. (his name was Jose). The only thing i was dissapointed with was the selection at the bars but I guess for an all inclusive you can't expect that much. Overall I had an excellent time and am planning to go back next year!
“Would Go Back!”
Weather and location were awesome. Our room did not get cleaned one day?! -had to find and ask for towels to shower the next morning - but other than that, the accommodations were great. Nice variety of food at each meal. The Italian Restaurant was great. I have never been to a resort were there have been so many people cleaning at all times. One morning we even saw a lady sweeping off one of the roofs that we could look down on form the hallway of our floor. Staff was very helpful and honest as far as visiting other sights and giving ifo on other activities outside of the resort.
“Would Stay Again”
Would stay again. Room was great, upper floor, great view of the beach. Lunch restaurant excellent sea food choices. Buffet for breakfast and dinner has good quality but can lack in variety. I stay at the Park Royal for the beach, the ocean and the friendly staff and the chance to meet other guests to socialize with.
“too loud this year”
This was our 4th visit to the Park Royal. Every January they welcome a beach volleyball tournament. The first time it was interesting. This year they were out of control. They had 200 people and they took over the lobeybar every night and were so loud that the evening music couln"T BE HEARD. They were rude and incinsiderate. If they are there when we plan to go next year, we will go somewhere else.
“Not Impressed”
If you like loud disco music til 2 am every night, limited food selection, waits to have breakfeast & dinner, and cold food that is supposedly hot then this is the hotel for you. The disco goes til 2 am and is quite loud even with ear plugs you can not fall asleep til afterwards. There is only one buffet restaurant for dinner and the food was always cold NEVER hot despite the food warmers. Breakfeast 2 restaurant choices but if you came at 9 am you had to wait.
“Third time at this hotel”
This is our 4th trip to Ixtapa and the third at the Park Royal. The food is good and the upscale "Italiano" (resverations a must and not shorts) has a great menu and very good service. The wine was better than other all inclusive resorts we have stayed at. The view is great from the balcony. Only one problem. The disco is loud and open late. You can avoid that by asking for a partial view room. Still a great view but does not face the disco. There are a couple of very nice places to dine up on the hill at the end of the beach. The hotel can recommend them and make reservations. This is the best all inclusive resort we have stayed at you can get very good rates on the package.
“Nice enough but we would no go back”
The all inclusive package was great. Plenty of choice in food and drinks. We found the food was very good with a good choice. This was a holiday at the beach and while the beach was very good for sitting it was not good for swimming. A very strong surf and over anxious lifeguards virtually prevented us entering the water. We tried nearby beaches at Zihuatanejo and Ixtapa Island but they were either dirty or less than ideal.
