“" Good for the Price"”
I stayed at this hotel four days. At first we got a room in the 6th floor but apparently they were working on the bathroom because the shower had a big hole in it was licking. I called reception and they immediately moved me to a different room. I think this hotel is good for the price I payed. The pool is nice and the staff is very friendly, we had excellent service. Location is perfect, we found really easy our way around, everything is very close. If I could change something about this hotel would be the tv's, they are kind of old, but if you are all day out I am sure that will not be a problem for you. I just think that plasmas will give a little more credit to this hotel. Overall we liked this hotel, if you need a business center, this is not a hotel for you. They only have WIFI at the reception area and you will need to have your own computer or iPad (no printers).
“Good, quiet hotel”
As seniors, we like the quietness...not constant "pool games" and extra loud music. We also wanted a European plan (not all-inclusive), since we enjoy walking around at night looking at the different restaurants and trying out some. It's a shame that there aren't too many of these hotels left. Because of tourism being down at least 40% this year in Ixpapa, there have been many lay-offs, so service may not be as fast.
“Great Hotel”
Great Hotel for the price -- Great location

“Adequate beach resort, good value with discount”
This hotel is one of the older-looking hotels on the Ixtapa strip. However, for the (discounted) price it offered good value, reasonable comfort etc. despite the somewhat old and shabby rooms. The hotel location is covenient for the Estrella de Oro bus stop to Ixtapa from Mexico City (a 5-10 min walk) We never ate in the hotel, as there are a number of decent places to eat within 10 minutes walk During the week in low season the hotel was practically empty, but filled up at the weekend, when all the chairs on the beach and all the shady chairs by the pool were taken during the day. The pool area has waiter service and a live DJ most of the time poviding a mix of music and commentary for the (dubious) benefit of the guests The top 3 floors of the hotel were undergoing very noisy refurbishment (November 2010) so from 9am to 6pm on weekedays there were hammering and metal cutting sounds from the top floors, audible from the rooms and the pool (but thankfully not the beach). The staff were reluctantly helpful. After some discussion they allowed us to check in early and also to use the hotel facilities and a "hospitality room" after checkout for a shower before our late evening travel at no extra charge. I had a mexican to help with these discussions - a foreigner might have even more difficulty. This is not grand luxe but is a perfectly adequate base for a pleasant stay in Ixtapa
“NO SHOES TO WEAR HOME”
STAYES IN HOTEL. CALLED SAME DAY AS CHECK OUT. SHOES WERE LEFT IN ROOM. BUTTTTTTT NO SHOES RETURNED TO ME. DARN IT. 65.00 DOLLARS DOWN DRAIN AND NO SHOES TO WEAR HOME.
“Stay somewhere else”
Being misled and paying two times what we should of gives you a sour taste. I would never stay in this hotel again. No hot water, dingy towels, really bad pillows(lumpy). There are definetly better places to stay in Ixtapa.
“Great stay in Ixtapa!”
This is about our 14th time to visit Ixtapa. Truly enjoyed the sun and sand. The Krystal staff are great, particularly the beach servers and the main desk staff. We had a little problem with getting all of our towels, bath mat, & wash cloths each day but the maids did a good job of cleaning the room. The local eating places are varied, economical, and serve great food. We'll go back next year if possible.
“Calgary Alberta - Bring your Bubba Mug”
The hotel was nice and for the money, it was a very good deal. My recommendations would be the following. If you don't have all inclusive which really isn't needed due to all the great restaurants rights across the street, bring a large bubba mug for your drinks. Also get ice delivered each day to your room because the wait at the pool bar for ice is too long. A bottle of booze from a liquor store is so cheap (60 oz $22.00) that it is very cost effective to buy a bottle instead of daily drinks which run $6.50 each and a glass of pop is $5.50 each down at the pool. There is a store right out front where you can buy your booze and 2 litre pop for a good price. Cab ride from airport is only $21.00, but the cab will say $31.00 so make sure you tell them you will only pay $21.00. Hotel was clean, beds were good, cleaning staff was really nice. You will enjoy the pool as it is very large. We were there when it wasn't too busy, but still there is a problem with gettting a chair around the pool. Get up early and lay a book or something on a chair so it is yours.
“This can't be 4 stars”
The front desk was always undermanned and frequently unhelpful.
