“Wonderful family hotel”

This is a wonderful family-friendly hotel on a small island about 10 minutes from Rovinj. Very friendly and accommodating staff--everyone speaks English. The only complaints I have regarding the room were the flimsy pillows and there we only two of them. Also, when I booked the hotel there was no indication that we needed to take a boat to the island or any directions of where we needed to catch that boat at! Had to figure that out on our own once we arrived. The hotel definitly needs to post that information and notify visitors of where they need to go (the marina location) in Rovinj to get to the island. Other than that I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone, especially families with children.

When to go
We went in April and the weather was beautiful and no crowds anywhere.
Getting there
Very easy drive to Rovinj from Pula--only about 30 min.

“Outstanding experience”

A good hotel with terrific location and excellent beaches. Dining choices on the island were restricted and there were annoying charges for towels and other small items. No water provided in the fitness center, which also closed too early.

“Hotel Istra”

Wir können das Hotel nur empfehlen. Die Lage ist wohl einzigartig auf einer eigenen Insel mit eigener Badeinsel vor dem traumhaften Ort Rovinj. Die Verpflegung ist landesentsprechend, d.h. das Frühstück ist umfassend, aber nicht höchster Geschmack. Die Hauptspeisen sind sehr gut, vor allem die "Einnahmeorte über beide Inseln verteilt sind einmalig (auf höchstem Punkt der Badeinsel mit Traumblick nach oder am malerischen Hafen aus dem letzten Jahrhundert) . Vor der Insel schwimmen Delphinschwärme. Es ist ein ruhiges, traumhaftes Naturparadies.

“Hotel Istra auf einer vorgelagerten Insel vor Rovinj”

Das Hotel liegt ausgesprochen schön und abseits vom Trubel. Die Zimmer sind geräumig, sauber und gut ausgestattet. Alle Zimmer mit Balkon und Klimaanlage, die bei außergewöhnlichen 36 Grad auch notwendig war. Das Hotel verfügt über einen direkten Zugang zum Meer (nicht überlaufen), mehrere Pools sowie einen schönen Wellnessbereich und einen ordentlich ausgestatteten Fitnessraum. Etwas schade war, dass das Ausleihen von Liegen und Handtüchern kostenpflichtig war. Das Hotel verfügt über mehrere Restaurants, wovon zwei jedoch nur tagsüber geöffnet haben. Das a la Carte Restaurant "Lanterna" ist wunderschön und hat ausgezeichnetes Essen und Weine. Zum Abendessen lohnt sich aber auch auf jeden Fall ein Ausflug nach Rovinj. Frühstück gibt es nur im Hauptrestaurant und da ist es dann ziemlich voll und hektisch, allerdings ausgezeichnet. Schade war, dass Frühstück nur bis 10 Uhr möglich war und die Bedienungen schon um 9.45 Uhr angefangen haben abzuräumen. Die Insel ist autofrei, so dass das Auto auf einem Parkplatz auf dem Festland abgestellt werden muss. Die stündlich verkehrende Fähre (Fahrzeit 15 min.) ist für Hotelgäste kostenfrei unbd fährt bis tief in die Nacht. Insgesamt ein sehr schönes Hotel, was auf jeden Fall wieterempfohlen werdne kann.

Area recommendations
Die Städte Rovinj, Porec und Pula lohnen sich mit ihren kleinen Gässchen und schönen Bauwerken auf jeden Fall.

“Eine Perle gefunden...”

Hotel Istra ist ein sehr solider Aufenthaltsort. Man kann sich dort sehr wohlfühlen. Die Zimmer sind normalerweise recht klein. Man kann sich aber auch zwei nebeneinander liegende Doppelzimmer mit Verbindungstür nehmen. Wir hatten das Glück, eine große Suite im Nebenhaus zu bekommen. Meerblick aus der Dusche... Die kleine Insel ist ein Traum. Morgens einmal herum joggen und dann ein Sprung in das Meer. Kann man sich besseres vorstellen? Ja! Ich habe selten eine schönere Stadt gesehen, als dieses Rovinj. Wunderbar erhalten, wird es am Abend zum Freiluftrestaurant. Auch auf der Insel kann man hervorragend essen. Die Stadt bietet aber erst das mediterrane Ambiente.

Area recommendations
Wer will, kann sicher herumfahren und sich das schöne Istrien ansehen. Mir war die Entspannung auf der Insel wichtiger.
Getting there
Das Auto parkt man auf einem Parkplatz in Rovinj. Es gibt einen Shuttledienst, bei dem der Fahrer jederzeit zum Parkplatz gebracht wird. Das Schiff fährt kostenfrei jede Stunde zwischen Insel und Stadt hin und her. Ist prima gelöst!

“Super Hotel in Top-Lage”

Es hat alles bestens funktioniert. Super Hotel mit toller Pool Landschaft und direktem Zugang zum Strand. Auch das Zimmer war toll, wobei es auf der anderen Hotelseite eventuell ein bisschen lauter sein koennte weil dort stuendlich das Shuttle anlegt mit dem man in die Stadt kommt. Ist aber nur eine Annahme. Das Shuttle ist uebrigens ein nettes Angebot. Man kann gratis stuendlich mitten in die Stadt (Rovinj) fahren. Auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert. Wird sicher nicht das letzte Mal gewesen sein.

“HOTEL ISTRA SERVIZIO IMPECCABILE”

L'hotel è bellissimo e dotato di ogni confort. Naturalmente è piu' adatto a chi vuole trascorrere un periodo continuativo sull'isola rossa. Per chi invece vuole visitare varie localita' della zona e la stessa citta' di Rovigno che è splendida, sarebbe piu' opportuno soggiornare in un hotel sulla terra ferma. Comunque la vasta flessibilita' di orario dei traghetti, la cordialità e la professionalita' dello staff dell'hotel, tutti parlanti italiano,mettono in secondo piano questo piccolo inconveniente.

Rovigno è bellissima, quindi ovunque andiate, vi troverete a Vostro agio.

“istra - isola rossa - Rovigno”

Il migliore hotel della Croazia in cui abbiamo alloggiato. Ottimo, anzi SUPER per i bimbi. Una sala giochi enorme, animazione serale e 2 ragazze che per 4 ore al giorno offrono servizio di intrattenimento. Consigliato alle famiglie. Davvero. Ottimo servizio di colazione. Per la cena ottimo il risorante Lanterna fronte hotel. Sembra si lusso ma i costi sono quelli di una pizzaeria in Italia. Abbiamo mangiato una buona grigliata di carne con meno di 15 euro a testa!!!!! Traghetto per Rovigno ogni ora. Percorso ginnico nell'isola...che dire.. andateci!
