“An absolute gem”
Delightful hotel just five minutes walk from the Blue Mosque and an ideal base for seeing everything that Istanbul has to offer. Tucked down a side street, it was relatively quiet, apart from the early morning call to prayer, but that will happen anywhere you stay in Istanbul. Breakfast is taken on the top floor with fantastic views over the roof tops to the Sea of Marmara and a shady courtyard garden on the ground floor offers free tea every day from 15.00 to 20.00. Comfortable rooms with local touches to the decor and lashings of hot water in the shower. The staff were friendly and helpful, often anticipating travellers' requirements. I would go back there any time.
“Comfortable, great location”
The hotel is in a great location and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The terrace where you have breakfast gives a lovely view of the Marmara Sea, and you can see the Blue Mosque. In the lobby there is a computer which you can use.
“Excellent hotel and location”
Having read previous reviews before we went we were prepared for the rather small rooms and not much storage space. However, all of this matters little as the hotel is extremely well run. The staff were most accomodating all all occasions and as everywhere we went - a very friendly nation. The hotel is ideally situated for all the major sites in the old part of the city as well as within walking distance of the Golden Horn etc. I would reccommend this hotel to anyone and hope that one day we may return.
“Ticked all the boxes”
Have nothing but good things to say about this hotel. Very nice location very close to the lovely sights of Sultanahmet. Comfortable rooms, good breakfast with wonderful views of the Bosphorous and extremely friendly and helpful staff. When my lift to the airport didn't show up they went out of their way to help me organise a new taxi, helped me print out my boarding pass and even gave me some chocolate which definitely helped in calming me down. Would certainly stay here again. Only other thing to mention was its proximity to the Blue mosque, which was fantastic if you don't mind being woken at 5am by the call to prayer. For someone not at all familiar with this ritual, I found it to be quite a remarkable experience and set the tone for an exhilirating and insightful stay.
“Tash Konak: your home in Istanbul!”
The hotel: both the fabric of the establishment and the staff running it; lived up to their claim to be our home in Instanbul. Never less than genuinely friendly friendly and helpful, we enjoyed every aspect for Tash Konak hospitality, from reception desk through breakfast, booking services, refreshments and local advice.
“Conveniently situated boutique hotel”
Convenient situation close to Blue Mosque and Sultanhamet Square. Breakfast buffet was excellent and plentiful with a fantastic view of Bosphorus. Hotel service very good. Room small but very clean. Lots of small restaurants nearby for evening meals.
“honest review never sure whether to believe these reviews”
having looked at other reviews before booking, one is never sure who to believe but most reviews for this hotel were excellent. and it is. Very helpful staff, although beware of being recommended the tours which you could organise yourself having got your bearings and feel of the trams. Clean rooms with everything in, although small, you don't need massive space if you're out all day. Breakfast fine plenty of it with superb views over the river. They are happy to organise airport transfers which just makes life easier on arrival. Take flat shoes lots of walking and do invest in a map. Would definately go back and why not to this hotel its near everything.
“Excellent base for access to all Sultanahmed attractions.”
The Tashkonak Hotel in in a quiet street but within easy walking distance of all Sultanahmed. The staff were very friendly and helpful, most spoke good English, the rroms were small but adequate and the breakfast room on the top floor privides an attractive view of the Bosphorus to start your day.
“Friendly and welcoming”
We hate 'Eurobox' hotels that you can find anywhere. Tash Konak has a frienly, individual atmosphere with lovely staff. Slightly scruffy but a good breakfast with fab views from the terrace over the Sea of Marmara. Really close to all the important sites yet easy to catch a tram elsewhere. A quiet area - not much action in the evening, but just our kind of place.
“Extremely good value - but not recommended for those with mobility problems!”
Spent five days here in March. A strength of this hotel was the friendliness and helpfulness of all staff. Splendid selection of appetizing hot and cold buffet breakfast, served at the top of the hotel with good views of the Blue Mosque on one side and across the Bosphorous on the other. Also occasional view of distant dolphins for those with excellent vision. Problem was that one had to climb several flights of stairs to reach the restaurant! No lifts. Our room was small but adequate. Could have done with more cupboards, clothes hooks and flat surfaces.
