“Great location, friendly staff, complimentary breakfast”

A group of three of us stayed in a triple room for six nights. We weren't disappointed. The hotel is located about one block from the Sultanahmet Metro station and is about a five minute walk from the Blue Mosque and Cistern. We had a complimentary breakfast every morning where they offer eggs to order and fresh squeezed orange juice, along with other juices, tea, coffee, breads, cheese, yogurts, cereal, and fruit (fresh & dried). The Blue Mosque and the Sea of Marmara can both be viewed from the terrace where breakfast is served. The room was a comfortable size, fitting a queen and a single. The bathroom had a jacuzzi tub - a nice perk! The only downside is that the beds were awfully hard, but if you're suffering from jet lag like we were, you won't know the difference. The staff was always very pleasant and helpful, and they also have free wireless throughout the hotel. All in all, this hotel offers everything you could ask for to kick off your adventures in Istanbul!

“Loved it”

We stayed for our honeymoon and the location of the hotel is great because it is one block away of the main street Divan Yolu were is the tram and stores and restaurants, and walking distance to the haya sophia, blue mosque and topkapi palace The hotel is clean and the breakfast which is included is amazing and it is served at the rooftop restaurant, also you have free coffee and tea available all day at the rooftop. It is a mosque right infront of the hotel, and everyday at 5am around all the sultanhnamet area are prayers, so they turn on the speakers of all the mosques of the area and sing their prayers and you feel like it is right outside your window. But this is a culture thing, so it is no a negative thing of the hotel, just a fact you really need to know before going because if you don't you will freak out if you are sleeping and start listening to it. It's a matter of culture and I really respect that, in any hotel you will stay at the sultanhnamet area you will live that experience. Had a great time! and i really recommend this hotel, the staff is great very servicial, and staff of the hotel is also great and very friendly! I recommend 100% this hotel, and also to request the pickup service from the airport. Thank you Tan hotel!

“Convenient position of hotel and friendly staff”

Had a good 5 night stay at the Tan Hotel. Staff always obliging. Breakfasts great with fresh juice and fruit options changing every day. Very happy with our stay except the couple of negatives would be that the carpet in our bedroom really could have done with a clean or a new one and more lighting needed within the rooms as the cream/brown colour scheme just made things very dark.

“Could not have wished for better service.”

Our 4 day stay at the Tan Hotel was perfect in all respects. The ambience of the hotel was complemented by exceptionally friendly and thoughtful staff who always went the extra distance to answer our questions were answered, whether sitting on the terrace having an early evening drink or checking details at the reception desk. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfasts here were by far the best we have enjoyed in a European city and together with our smart and comfortable rooms we would not be tempted to try any other hotel when we visit again.

Excellent location in the Old City for all the major sights and a tram stop 3 mins walk away.

Getting around

Make good use of the trams and funicular and be prepared to negotiate the taxi price when you need to go further afield.

Dining

With so many varied and exceptionally good restaurants, check with the local hotel staff on those recommended in your guide books. Local knowledge can't be bettered.

“Good hotel, Great location, Good price”

Tan is a great hotel for the price paid. its most outstanding feature is, by far, its location. Other than that, its a simple hotel with nice finishes and comfortable, warm rooms. The breakfast was also nice, albeit simple, but still good. Overall it was a pleasant stay and I would certainly return.
