I have the feeling that I have been ripped off!

Posted 09-Sep-2014
Pros: Location
Cons: difficult
Location: 10min walking to sultanahmet
I booked the hotel for 2 reasons: location and for the room pics. The location is amazing! the problem is when i saw my room......2 of the switches are broken and the room was a bit ugly and old......so different to the pics that you can see on the webpage!!! My feeling of being ripped off is mainly for the pics that you see on the webpage doesn't correspond with the room i got. the pictures are for a great and very nice rooms and then you receive something completely different. this hotel is more 2 stars and not 4! the other issue is the featured pic they have. I complained and told them look i booked the room cause of the featured pic. i wanted to use the bar terrace on the roof and use it often cause of the nice views. The answer i got is that this terrace doesnt exist. it is just a logo. How can they do that kind of things??? For that price you can find better rooms!

Complete disappointment

Pros: The location is in old town and 5 min walk to Small Aya Sofia and about 10 min to Hippodrome. There are quite a few small shops and cafes around.
Cons: The condition was very much below 4 star as the hotel positiones themselves and very pricy as well, I would rate it at 2 stars at most
Location: All the usual things you would want to see in the Sultanahment district.
This was the first and last time when I trusted my wife to select a hotel. She got deceived by nice pictures on Expedia while she should have read the hotel reviews first! To start with, we were a group of 3 adults and 1 kid and indicated this in the selection options. It was reflected in the room rate and stated the room was for max of 5 people. Then, we proceeded to payment and got charged a surcharge for additional 2 people, i.e. got charged twice! After a complaint to Expedia the money has been refunded. We arrived to the hotel administration and were met by a manager who told us the rooms were in a different place. It was about 200 m form the office in an old house. You enter the door and there is an old Singer sawing machine, old chairs and a sofa in front of you and several doors to apartments. Ours was a tiny 1 bedroom apartment with a sofa in the hall, so small that it was about 50 cm from the walls to the bed and we could not even properly open the suitcases. It was small even for 3 people and I am wondering how they put a max capacity of 5. The bed was the only thing which was relatively new, the rest of the furniture is very old, wallpapers, floors and a carpet were worn and filthy. The sink in the shower was blocked and got filled very quickly. Junk bucket and kettle lids were broken and fell apart, the fridge was fully frosted with ice.

First impressions are not the best impressions

Posted 20-Jul-2014
Pros: Roominess of the apartment and closeness to all the main areas of interest, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Topkapi palace and Grand Bazaar.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: The apartment was located at the center of Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Topkapi palace and Grand Bazaar. All within a 10 minute walk.
When our cab driver drove us to the rental office we were not too impressed. The office was located on a narrow cobbled stone alley our hearts sank, only later we realized that the whole Fatih region, of which Sultanahmet was a part was like that. The apartments are strewn all over the place, so no two apartments might not be the same. What we got was a roomy single bedroom apartment complete with a kitchen, living area and a balcony too. The staff were extremely nice and helpful. When I asked them where to buy a plug adapter for my iPhone, they gave me one! The staff cleaned the apartment everyday and replaced the linen and towels. They even did the dishes. The apartment was located within walking distance to the Blue mosque and close to the sea shore. Just walking up the street gave a splendid view of the sea. Over all it was worth every penny.
