“Good service but nothing amazing”
The staff were helpful, the room was well maintained and good wireless connection! Negatives; - Funny gutter smell when you enter the hotel - Location wasn't amazing even though it was close to the blue mosque but if your looking for an amazing area go elsewhere - Breakfast seriously needs to be improved, no variety and by the time we had got up half the stuff was finished and not refilled! - The gym cannot be classified as a gym, I do not call 2 treadmills a gym
“A great location in Istanbul”
This is a great hotel in an excelent central location close to al the main sights. The staff are very friendly and helpful; always willing to find out information for you. The hotel is well appointed nad whilke rooms small they are perfectly adequate.
“Superb Location - Needs Facelift”
Pierre Loti is a well situated hotel with good staff services. Our room was a bit over the hill and in need of an overhaul. The bed, though comfortable, was very low. The bedspread appeared to be quite old and in need of replacement. Restaurant service took a long time for lunch, while bar service was reasonably prompt.
“Great location, close to all major sites. V friendly service”
I've said most of what i need to re the hotel. Istanbul is great place, but ladies be careful! It's safe but some of the guys are creepy and don't get it if you say get lost, they keep going on and on which is annoying. Going in jan was cold (similar to London weather, where I'm from) but quite few days were sunny so pics came out nice. Also not many tourists so no queues at the sites meant no time was wasted!
“Value for Money”
Acceptable for the money. As a lot of other reviews mention, the rooms are very small, which is not a big issue if you are outside most of the day. We got caught having to stay indoors due to weather for a day, and it was quite unpleasant. Recommend it if you are going to be outside all day, otherwise look for other options. Location is excellent, if a little noisy.
“Turkish Delight”
A very clean and comfortable hotel. Great location - walking distance to most attractions. Super choice for breakfast and great views over the city while eating it!
“Not a good choice ...”
Hotel is in a convenient location in the old city centre, at a walking distance for sightseeing. However, rooms were really tiny, not well maintained and daily cleaning service of the room was quite deficient. Staff was unattentive in general terms and far from being willing to provide a basic level of service. As an example, the cleaning lady forgot one of the days the towels of the room, and we found when we came back that there was no towel, and it took three hours waiting and four calls to the reception to get a couple of towels delivered. Several other issues with the reception staff. Breakfast was quite poor, and with a very limited choice. Some additional dishes are offered but not included in the basic breakfast and need to be paid in addition.
“great situation”
Very pleasant hotel, perfect situation for seeing the main sights in Istanbul in Sultanahmet, and on the tram way, for getting further field. lovely roof top bar, and resturant, tho the service was very slow, they have a hammam tho we didnt use it would recommend for city break
“Great location in old Istanbul”
This hotel has an excellent location with good service and helpful staff. We particularly enjoyed the roof top bar and restaurant which has excellent views over old Istanbul including the Blue Mosque and the Bosphorus. It is within walking distance of several major attractions (Blue mosque, Ayia Sophia, Topkapi Palace and an excellent local hamam (turkish baths). A tram line runs past the hotel and is convenient for getting to the other parts of the city. On the down side the rooms are rather small and so are the shower rooms. The breakfast room is very pleasant but the included breakfast is a bit limited and you have to pay extra if you want fresh fruit juice or an omelette. But this did not really detract from our holiday and we thought the hotel represented reasonable value for such a location.
“A Small Misunderstanding”
I booked a double room (but with a single flight) but despite there being a room ready for my arrival the staff were very inflexible. I was due to meet a colleague who was already in town and assumed booking a double room was good enough. After a long day travelling they were more keen to cancel my hotel booking than to resolve the situation with some common sense. I had to call Expedia to try and resolve the misunderstanding and then had to pay extra an occupancy rate which would have been more paletable had i not had to call the booking agent first! it was a little embarrasing to say the least but we finally managed to get to our very small room to wind down after a long day... clean hotel lobby and rooms but i could smell smoking throughout the corridors unless that was just me... reasonable but the initial greeting and confusion rather tainted the experience
