Hotel Niles is a combination of two sections, connected from inside with a traditional Ottoman Coffee House/lounge and a patio. The first section has the standard rooms: simple and comfortable guest rooms with private baths, and a refined atmosphere complemented with modern amenities such as wireless internet access and in-room controlled air conditioning at value-for-money rates. The adjacent building has new, meticulously designed Ottoman Style junior suites with mahogany floors, fine linens, hand-painted Ottoman ceiling trim, Iznik faience accents, luxury drapes, sheers and light-blocking curtains. The bathrooms are done completely in banded Marmara marble, in Hamam/Turkish bath style.
All guestrooms are non-smoking.

“clean and nice, close to all attractions”
Niles hotel is nice, clean and close to all attractions. It is minutes away to most historical places, and 2-minute away from the tramway and busses. One thing may not please my fellow Americans who are used to large spaces. This is Istanbul where every inch is utilized. Rooms and bathrooms are small but this is the case in all hotels in this historical district where real estate is very expensive. Hotel has very friendly staff and good breakfast. It offers also free wireless internet but the signal may not be strong in all rooms.
“Nile hotel is veru comportable but need more 2%”
Very kindness staffs, comfortable room and excellent food. However, the location is so-so, need more 2%. :) If you have some problem of your body and legs, you can't choice this hotel. But your young traveler or feel young, good to you go to everywhere. Very easy to go the Blue Mosque and grand bazar. And I very appricate to every staffs for your kindness, faithfully heart.
“Friendly oasis”
In the midst of the turbulence that is Istanbul is the Niles Hotel. When the door is opened for you (nb) you are ushered into the calm that is the antidote to the bustle of this exciting city. Tea is offered as you sign in, and your bags are taken care of by genuinely friendly staff. Our room was not spacious, but plainly decorated (no room for a comfy chair, the chest of drawers not big enough for two people). It was spotlessly clean, comfortable firm bed, with efficient heating and air-conditioning. (Yes we used both.) Breakfast on the roof terrace (inside and out) is plentiful, with a good variety of nutritious foods and holiday treats. It also runs until 11am. Knowledgable receptionists are only too happy to offer city advice. I cancelled a booking at another hotel to return here on my way home through Istanbul.
“Nothing but smiles from Niles”
We had a great stay at the Niles Hotel in Istanbul. The hotel is very charming and the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed the rooftop terrace for complimentary morning breakfast and afternoon turkish tea. The grand bazaar is extremely close by which is great if it's a stop on your list but a little bothersome if you don't want to be haggled by street vendors going to and from the hotel. Other than that i couldn't recommend the place enough.
“Want a safe, ideally located and small hotel providing individual and high grade service?”
Then the Niles is for you. The Reception staff greet you by name, are there to help you with any questions and made local calls for me for my planned excursions. The lobby area is wonderful, atmospheric and serves free tea throughout the day. Classic music is usally playing and you get a much bigger feel than this hotel actually is. The roof terrace, where breakfast is served, is really pleasant and a lovely way to start your day. The simply but adequate buffet and fresh breads make a good foundation for walking this city. I found the location 5 minutes walk from the tram stop and in the local clothing manufacturing area fantastic but only 10 minutes from all of the important historic sites. Only complaint, the room was small and a little uncomfortable when not in bed, but otherwise a great stay for a short city visit. I also trusted all the restaurant recommendations given by the hotel and was not disappointed!
“Ideal location with friendly staff”
Terrific find .Ideal for all sights within Istanbul.Main tram line within 5 mins easy walk and Grand Bazaar within a 10 mins walk.In an old part of Sultanhamet so some poorer looking properties around; however The Niles Hotel is an oasis with a superb roof top terrace where breakfast is taken with cockateels ,canarys and budgies and a roof top garden, you can also take evening drinks on the terrace with a view over The Marmara sea.Would highly recommend booking a suite a large well appointed room with a lovely bathroom. Will definitely be going back.
“Not worth the money”
I usually like to support family owned businesses and pick small, intimate hotels to stay in. This, and the hotel description and pictures presented on Expedia, made the Niles seems like a good fit. However, the location is off the main road and on an extremely cramped, noisy and dirty street. My room was on the second floor which was really the first floor and was right on the side walk and very noisy. The hotel is very old and although the reception area is small, it's authentic and clean. The rest of the hotel needs a serious update. My room was cramped, bathroom was tiny, wallpaper in bad condition, tv not working, some lights not working, no kleenex in the room. The roof top area where breakfast was served looked deceiving in the picture. The view they show is if you are standing and maybe from a table or two if you are sitting. The included breakfast was good and they had beautiful birds in cages that provided lovely singing and chirping. The staff were pleasant and helpful, however I found it difficult to communicate with one of the front desk employees and got a bit frustrated. I believe that the front desk staff need to speak good, clear English. Overall the hotel was not bad, but I would not recommend it. There are so many hotels to choose from that I would not pick one in the side streets. If I go back, I would pick one on Ordu, which is the main road in that area. Niles might be a good fit for other travelers, but unfortunately it was not for me.
“Excellent hotel offering good value.”
The standard of service was extremely good. The staff could not have been more helpful. The situation was excellent for the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Castle, Grand Bazaar etc.It was only a very short walk to a tram stop, The hotel only did breakfast, which was a buffet style with a good selection, but there were good eating places locally. Found this hotel excellent value and have paid much more for lower levels of service.there is a roof top bar which is open all night for a quiet drink. If I return to Istanbul, I would make this hotel my first choice. The room we had was of adequate size, but with quite a small en suite, but as I don't usually throw parties in the toilet this was a minor thing. the rooms were very clean
“Nice place, nice staff”
This is a very decent hotel. It's reasonably priced, and the location is good.
“You have to take the suites!”
We stayed at Hotel Niles for 5 nights and it was wonderful except the size of the room (classic room) and also the shower which was really a pain and the lighting in the washroom was poor. The hotel otherwise had a wonderful breakfast but they could add more items to it. The aircon to our surprise was simply awesome. The staff cleaned the room daily which felt good (even the towels were changed daily!). It takes about 35 TL from the airport but a flat rate of 40 TL would be agreed upon by the yellow cabs.
