“Good budget hotel, unfussy but clean and comfortable”

clean rooms, very nice breakfast, good water pressure in the bathroom. Unpretenious service - no-one offers to carry your bag to your room but friendly and helpful if asked.

“Star ratings”

This hotel is rated as 5 star but in my opinion it is incorrectly rated it should be 3 star, the reason for this the rooms are dated and there is no fridge in the hotel rooms.we were given a triple room at the back of the hotel with building work going on in the back it was noisy,no other rooms availble to change over.

“Ilkay OK!!”

Fantastic location. Clean rooms very basic, comfortable bed with plenty of pillows - little noisy but it is in the centre. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast. Take your own soap they have that stuff that comes out of a dispenser.

“Cheap - Exceptional Service”

We didn't expect too much when we booked a budget hotel, but Hotel Ilkay exceeded out expectations. The staff are all very friendly and will offer assistance however they can. I could not fault the service. The buffet breakfast surpassed some of the breakfast we have had in four star accommodation, both in terms of quality and variety. The room we had was clean, but dated and the bathroom required maintenance (looked liked it needed to be re-tiled). We had an en-suite twin room (street facing), which contained two single beds, TV, A/C, and a wardrobe. We also booked a single for my mother, but unfortunately the stench of tobacco smoke lingered in the curtains and carpet. Hotel Ilkay is located with-in easy walking distance of the tram and many of the local tourist sights, so would suggest this hotel is most suitable for people looking to explore Istanbul & surrounds. Overall, if you are looking for cheap accommodation that is just a place to put your bags, have a sleep and start the day with a great breakfast, Hotel Ilkay is perfect.

“Would stay again.”

We stayed at the Ilkay during May 08 for 2 nights. The location was good and transport links excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. A plentyful and varied buffet breakfast was offered which more than satisfied our appetite. It's a basic hotel but very good value for money. we were staying in a mini suite ie a sitting room with separate bedroom. I would certainly stay there again.

“Clean, cheap and good ,convenient breakfast. Good location to walk from.”

Small, but enough of a room. Clean. Shower curtain has issues, but just don't put the water pressure too high. The braekfast is convenient and well done. A nice place for the price, if you are not looking for luxury. The hotel staff was always accomodating.

“An Ideally Situated Hotel”

The Ilkay was a charming hotel ideally placed for visiting all the main Istanbul attractions. The trams were just outside the door so the first day of our stay we took the tram in both directions in order to check out where all the sights were! We were on the 5th floor and our room was very comfortable and clean. The buffet breakfast in the morning covered all tastes. The staff were very friendly too.

“Great affordable hotel in perfect location”

This is a great hotel, affordable and clean, with friendly and helpful staff. The twin bed room we stayed in was small but not a problem for a 3-day city break. The best about the hotel, however, is it's perfect location if you are a tourist: very close to the Topkapi, the Blue Mosque or Gulhane park. Recommended!
