“Great location and everything we needed.”

Located just a few minutes from the tram and ideally situated for the historic area! Perfect to get out and explore. The only down side is that the walls are very thin and our neighbours were clearly in Istanbul for a party! So take ear plugs! Lovely traditional Turkish breakfast and comfy rooms with powerful showers! Just what we needed after a packed day of sightseeing!

“Beware of Teenager Travel Groups”

This hotel is plagued by Summer teenage travel groups. This means the use of the elevator becomes a nightmare, the breakfast buffet is loud and messy, and the water and juice fountain (intended for dining room use only) becomes a long line-up of teenagers filling up their canteens.

“Good hotel in the historical part of Istanbul”

good location, 5 minutes walk to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Top Kapi clean and comfortable rooms breakfast is ok with delicious eggs but no meat

“Istanbul so good they named it once”

The hotel unusually for Old Istanbul was set in a pleasant location over looking a small town square and nearer the top of the hill... This meant the Grand Bazaar and the Blue Mosque were within easy walking distance. There are plenty of good clean restaurants serving the local delicacies of sheik kebabs and fish menus just moments away from the hotels front door. The famous fish restaurant quarter is just a 10 minute walk away at the bottom of the steep hill. The staff within the hotel were very helpful always will to help or carry your bag. I suggest if you can book a room at the front of the hotel as the view from the rear is restricted by the buildings just 10 feet away to the rear. The only down side was the free Wi-Fi in the hotel was a bit hit and miss but thats only a minor niggle to what was a very pleasant stay for me.

“Would go back because of the location”

Hotel was adequate. Only was here overnight. Arrived about 3:30 a.m. and they were up with door open. Later in a.m. advised me of a shuttle back t heairport and ordered it right away. appreciated that.

“Great bargain”

Located in Sultanahmet, very close to train service, bazaars and tourist areas, Mosques, etc. Room was in great condition, breakfast was excellent. A great bargain!!! Only thing to keep in mind, no AC, its climate control, so it may get stuffy from time to time. The service folks downstairs, were not as helpful and pro active as one would hope. Overal, I'd recommend it for your stay!

“Immer wieder”

Wir waren 3 Nächte im Hotel. Die Lage ist traumhaft, mitten in der Altstadt. Alles ist gut zu Fuß zu erreichen. Frühstück war ausreichend für die 3 Tage. Das einzigst Dumme war, daß die Klimaanlage nicht funktionierte. Bei 35 Grad draußen war das natürlich nicht soooo prickelnd. Doch die haben dran gearbeitet.

“Golden Crown: Value for money !”

Hotel Golden Crown biedt veel waar voor zijn geld. Mooie kamers met keurig en modern sanitair, goede bedden, een heerlijk en redelijk uitgebreid ontbijt van goede kwaliteit. Vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Onze tassen werden zomaar naar onze kamer gebracht. De ligging van het hotel is fantastisch. Alles (Bazar, Haman, Blauwe Moskee, Aya Sofia, Topkapi Paleis, etcetera) is echt om de hoek, terwijl de directe omgeving van het hotel rustig is. Twee aandachtspunten. Het gebouw is een beetje gehorig en ik heb wat twijfels bij de werking van de airco. Daarom raad ik geïnteresseerden aan om een kamer te boeken aan de achterzijde. Je hebt dan nauwelijks uitzicht, maar het is de koele kant van het gebouw. Verder raad ik iedereen aan zo min mogelijk op je hotelkamer te verblijven, daarvoor is Istanbul domweg te mooi en te interessant.
