“Great Place For Short Stay”

Only stayed one night. I was looking for somewhere central, somewhere cheap, and somewhere with a clean room. Hotel Daphne definitely fit the bill in this department, and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a budget friendly option in Istanbul. Staff were very friendly and I can't complain about being a couple blocks from the Blue Mosque. No view of the Blue Mosque from the roof however as I thought. You do get a view of the adjacent mosque though from the roof. FYI if you don't want to hear call to prayer 5 times a day, this hotel isnt for you - but I doubt you can find a hotel in Istanbul where you cant here this - thats part of the reason for visiting!

“We enjoyed our stay!”

We got a great room with a view of the Sea of Marmara. Our room was decorated very nicely. The staff was very nice and helpful and answered all of our questions daily. The breakfast was excellent! One of the best we've had throughout our trip in Turkey.

Area recommendations

Try to stay in Sultanahmet, closest to all the main attractions! You won't need a car.

“Hotel Daphne in istanbul - nice, B&B type”

Personnel are very friendly. Breakfast is fine. Wireless did not work in the room but in the lobby/breakfast area. Rooms are small (European) but very clean. The best part is the rooftop dining. A small and un-busy dining area with an out -standing view of much of the city and water. Very relaxing. I believe there are five floors and five +/- rooms per floor. Very close to all of the old town attractions. Everything is within walking distance and can be done in several hours if you don't dawdle. Definitely more like a B&B than a Marriott, but that's part of the charm. We were there end of September and weather was perfect.

Area recommendations

Right around old town; that is where most of the history is. I would plan on spending several days in Istanbul and getting a personal guide.

“Great boutique hotel in the heart of Sultanahmet”

This is a S Class boutique hotel in the heart of Sultanahmet. It is well maintained and has an excellent staff. The area older with much history and this is definitely one of the better choices for the neighborhood. The hotel was clean, comfortable and very convenient to all of the significant sites in Sultanahmet and Seragilo Point. I would definitely go back to Hotel Daphne.

“good location poor maintenance”

rooom badly maintained, safe , TV and toilet did not function. had to be ytansfered to another room. stret noise a problem. curtains did not fully cover windows. breakfast ok

“Overrated”

Booked this as it had great reviews, however, it didn't meet our expectations at all. Rooms are small, the air conditioning too noisy and the breakfast way below average. We tried to change hotels but discovered that once in residence there is no refund of any sort which made it too expensive to leave. We had found another very nice hotel nearby for a similar price. When we asked to have our private airport transfer confirmed we were told to call them ourselves - we don't speak Turkish. On the plus side there is a nice rooftop terrace with a great view, the room was clean and the hotel is conveniently located. You can do better than this hotel by looking around.

over all petit but well maintained with excellent staff. very helpful and always with a smile. rooms are a little on the small side but largely compensated by the friendly atmosphere.

“Location. location”

location excellent - views from terrace great; 3 minutes to Hippodrome and Blue Mosque. Overall very satisfied, altho breakfasts lack variety (more fresh fruit needed, for instance). Staff very friendly and helpful. Some rooms obviously better than others - we started in 204 but moved to 301 with view of the Sea of Marmara.

“Nice experience”

Very nice hotel. Quiet neighborhood, yet close to major sightseeing spots. Rooms were clean, though the shower (or toilet?) was leaking a bit in my room. It didn't cause any major discomfort though. Free wifi didn't always work. Breakfast buffet was limited but we never left hungry. Absolutely no complaints about the staff, they were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely go back and I definitely recommend this hotel.
