The gem of Sultanahmet!

Posted 22-Jul-2015
Pros: The rooftop patio, the breakfast buffet and the tea time spread.
Our stay at Hotel Amira made our vacation to Istanbul incredibly special and memorable. First and foremost, every single person on the entire staff went above and beyond to help us feel welcome and assist us with our day-to-day needs, including information on and directions to local sights and transportation in and out of the city. They also provided us with helpful tips on how to avoid tourist traps and local taxi drivers who prey on tourists. Moreover, the hotel itself is beautiful. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet, despite being on a busy street corner. The hotel rooftop is incredibly serene, provides a beautiful backdrop for pictures, and is luxuriously decorated. I regret not spending more time there. Finally, I will note that Hotel Amira provides a daily spread of breakfast that is quite large and varied. The breakfast included fresh bread, fruits, vegetables, nuts, jams, cereal and more. Gluten-free bread was available as well and I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the staff clearly understands how to prevent cross-contamination, evidencing how seriously they take food allergies. Being gluten-free myself, I typically go hungry at hotel breakfast buffets, but this was certainly not the case at Hotel Amira! I also took advantage of the daily tea time provided every afternoon, where complimentary snacks, tea, coffee and lemonade are provided. All in all, had a fabulous experience here and would recommend Hotel Amira in a heartbeat.

Best hotel I've stayed at in a long time

This hotel was a real gem in Istanbul. Great location close to everything, a rooftop patio overlooking the water/city and staff that would bend over backwards to help you with anything you need. A must stay if going to Istanbul.

Anniversary weekend in Istanbul

Posted 15-Jul-2015
Pros: Superb customer service; Free "tea time" in the late afternoon; roof top outdoor area;wonderful breakfasts. Absolutely top class.
Cons: Nothing that we experienced.
Location: Easily walkable to main tourist sights. Some good restaurants nearby if you hunt them out.
We booked the Amira for an anniversary weekend after reading the reviews - we weren't disappointed. Excellent location easily walkable to main sights; extraordinarily welcoming and helpful staff; lovely extras (particularly "tea time"!) and, overall, a wonderful stay. Thank you !

Beautiful hotel in Sultanahmet

Friendly and helpful staff, delicious breakfast and they even catered to my lactose intolerance by having both soy and lactose free milk available. Very large rooms with comfortable bed, lovely decor and a kettle with teas and coffee in the room.

Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Swimming Pool
Location: It's straight in the middle of the downtown area - everything is walkable except for Taksim
The staff were fantastic - they helped us plan our short stay in Istanbul to get the most out of it.

Posted 25-Jun-2015
Pros: Close to everything and still quite at night
Cons: Fridge bar to have a few more items and proper milk for a tea. Minor thing but I just like fresh milk.
Location: Great location
We loved our stay in hotel Amira. Close to everything, and still quite at night. The staff are so friendly and very helpfull. I took on board a few recomendations given by Emre and it was great, including restourants. I would recomend this hotel any time,to any traveler. I will go back again

建物自体は古く、水道や人の声は聞こえます。しかし清潔でこじんまり、居心地は良いです。 朝食やティータイムは充実していますし、何よりレストランの予約や、急な相談にもスタッフが親切でした!

Gorgeous hotel in the heart of the old city.

Posted 06-Jun-2015
A wonderfully warm welcome by the hotel staff was the beginning of a lovely stay in this beautiful hotel. Scrumptious breakfasts and afternoon teas too tasty to miss were a bonus. Being within walking distance to many of the old city's sights was an added plus for this hotel but the biggest plus was the super-friendly staff who went out of their way to make my stay a truly memorable one. Hotel Amira is my no.1 choice of hotel in Istanbul.
