Unbelievably wonderful!

Posted 25-Dec-2014
Pros: Everything!
Cons: Nothing.
Location: The location was perfect. About 3-5 minutes to the hippodrome and the Anyasofya and Blue Mosque, a bit further to the Grand Bazaar but walkable.
From the moment we arrived and had the "orientation to the city" by Fatih to the moment we left 5 days later, we could not have asked for anything more wonderful than this hotel provided. Every staff member made us feel as if we were the only guests. The room was lovely and amenities plentiful. The breakfast was fabulous! There was definitely something for everyone and all of it was delicious. The tea was beautiful as well as delicious. Lit candelabras and tea candles, Santas, and a gingerbread house all decorated the tea table that had a delicious assortment of everything from sandwiches to sweets. Fatih was always available to make recommendations and answer questions. The location of this wonderful hotel made it possible for us to walk to everything!! It was one of the most memorable stays we have had anywhere in the world. We came back with memories that will last a lifetime! A fabulous hotel with outstanding staff in an amazing city. What more could one ask for.

You better like your neighbors....

Posted 21-Dec-2014
Pros: Staff
Cons: Update the bathrooms!
I have to say that after reading the reviews of this hotel, my expectations were high. Perhaps too high. When we arrived we were taken to a room that had obviously not been cleaned. The bellboy was confused and we went back to the lobby. I was hoping that the new room would be better decorated, but alas it was the same. The beds were fairly small and the bathroom fixtures very dated. But the worst problem was the noise. I HATE hearing my neighbors and these walls are so thin that one time I responded to my friend's question only to find that it had been posed by our neighbors to each other. That is how thin the walls are. We sang Happy Birthday along with our neighbors through the walls another time. I have to think that you can find a better hotel at this price. That being said, staff was great, but I think that is pretty typical for Istanbul where service is important.

Mitten drin statt weit weg

Posted 08-Dec-2014

Great Place, Great Staff.

Posted 07-Dec-2014
Pros: everything
Location: very close to all places
Everything was great thanks to Amira's staff. Thank you again for the wireless device which allowed us to have internet during our visits of the city: it was free of charge and priceless for us. Great breakfast and the hotel is a small gem. Suggested 120%.

Tolle zentrale Lage mitten in der Altstadt.

Posted 05-Dec-2014
Pros: Freundliches und kompetentes Team, schöne Zimmer, gutes Frühstück,Wlan.
Cons: Alles o.k.

Perfect in every way

Posted 03-Dec-2014
Pros: The personnel is the best part: Really professionals, all of them speak good English (some basic but they made the effort) always attentive, smiling..
Location: Much to do around. The location is the best for tourism. The Sultanahmet area is beautiful.
The Hotel Amira was a great experience from the moment I made the reservation until the moment I left to the Airport back home. The hotel is very well located, really, if it is your first time in Istanbul (like me) and you want to see the main places, this is the place to stay. I checked on the map where the luxury hotels are, and I wouldn't trade the location of the Amira for any of them. The personnel is the best part: Really professionals, all of them speak good English (some basic but they made the effort) always attentive, smiling.. great, great service. The room is small (expected in Europe), the beds are very comfortable, good quality linens and pillows, the bathroom has all you need with good quality toiletries. Heater, air conditioning, TV with English channels.. mini bar (prices are high but that is also expected from a mini-bar). They give you complimentary bottled water every day, and also coffee and tea. The breakfast and afternoon area is very warm and nice, the buffet changed every day with the basics but also with Turkish food, exquisite.. really loved it. The waiters after one night, know what you like and you don't even have to ask for it, they serve it to you with a smile. When I return to Istanbul (which I will, such an amazing place), I am 100% sure that it will be to the Amira.

Great boutique hotek

Posted 01-Dec-2014
It was very Central and staff extremely helpful and friendly. We only had one night and spent very little time in the hotel. Staff made us very welcome and even catered a very early breakfast as we departed very early the next day. Would stay there again as long as the air conditioning could be slightly cooler.

A jewel in the old neighbourhood of Istanbul

Posted 30-Nov-2014
Pros: Everything was wonderful. I think it is very kind of them to offer their guests with tea in the afternoon. We have never been offered before!!
This is a marvellous hotel> Everything was perfect. The location: at walking distance from the main attractions in the Sultanahmet district or the tram, that takes you everywhere you need to go. The staff: incredibly kind. The place: very cozy. I would definitely recommend this hotel and most surely come back if I happen to visit Istanbul again.
