“Best location for the budget”
PROs: Amazing location, 5 minute walk from the best touristic attractions and quality restaurants Very cheap! Good breakfast buffet Friendly staff CONs: Floor in our room was uneven The heater was making a funny fountain-like noise (but we liked it anyway!) Small details not taken care of such as: No garbage bin in the room (only one in the bathroom) No tissue box No refilling of toiletries
“Very Nice Experience”
Our stay at the Agan was excellent-we were both impressed by the front desk staff-they all made us feel very welcome and were so helpful in answering our questions and giving us directions. They even went the extra mile when we had an early departure and made us some sandwitches to take with us so we wouldnt miss breakfast. We would definately return if we get a chance to come back to Istanbul. Keep up the good work....Jim and Patsy
“inspired in Istanbul”
Super hotel that was very good value for money, and in an excellent location for all the sights. In a busy area so slightly noisy but service was great and rooms were very clean.
“Well located Hotel. Will be back for another visit!”
Spotless, well run and very friendly Hotel. Superb location for all main tourist sites, the fantastic waterfront, shops, restaurants and tram line linking to the airport.
“Best Hotel in Istanbul”
Great Hotel, very friendly and helpful staff with a good buffet breakfast, the Hotel also offers a very good evening meal. It is within walking distance to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Museum and Topkapi Palace and close to all the ferries including the one to the Princes Islands. In fact it is so good I don't want this Hotel to become too popular or I may not be able to book my next holiday there!
“Great location - but very noisy!”
Very good location, busy area near to most to of historical sites and bars/restaurants. Very noisy throughout the night and early morning. Friendly and charming staff and excellent food except for at breakfast when staff found it hard to produce enough cutlery and plates for the twenty or so hotel guests + possibly the worst tea, coffee and orange in the city! Clean and tidy small rooms with clean hard beds, had to beg for covers several times as only a sheet provided but eventually got light fresh duvet so was happy. No lounge area or outside space except for small bar and pavement restaurant so nowhere to chlll out or relax. All things considered a good hotel but perhaps for less than the week that we stayed.
“Great Location - Recommended”
OK - the hotel is basic and this is reflected in its 2 star rating, but if your looking for a good place to stay on a visit to Istanbul and you are on a limited budget then this is the place for you. * Great location – all the major tourist sites are within easy walking distance. As are the ferries for your River cruise. *The staff here are very friendly and helpful. * There are lots of restaurants around – mainly inexpensive and good value. * The rooms are smallish – but since you won’t be spending much time in them – this is not a real problem. * The rooms are clean and serviced every day. * The air con is great. The one down side I guess is the noise from the surrounding restaurants etc which usually goes on until just after midnight – but if you close the window and turn on the air con you will be fine. (My room was on the first floor) I would most certainly recommend this hotel and when I go back I will be staying here.
“Seduced by Istanbul”
Istanbul is an overwhelming city. It is colourful, exciting and challenging and this is just trying to cross a road. the City is busy and frenetic and tiring. There is so much to see and experience. A place you should make every effort to go to if you want to experience history, culture and lots of people!!
“Great location”
Within a walk away of everything we wanted to see. Room clean and comfortable, although a bit on the small side. Outlook onto a pedestrians only street, so no problems with traffic noise although we were in the middle of the city. Restaurant opposite a bit noisy = music and loud chimney/ventilator but not a problem after midnight. Staff were friendly and helpful and there was a wide selection of food at the breakfast buffet. Only in Istanbul for two whole days and ran out of time to do everything we wanted. We'll be back - probably to the same hotel!
“Very helpful staff”
When my passport went missing, they helped me with contacting the embassy. When we needed a shuttle to the airport, they arranged it. When we had to leave too early for the free breakfast, they made us sandwiches. When we needed a room and they were full (3 days later), they found us another room at the same price, just down the street. Thank you SO much for all you did for us. When one suddenly needs help desperately (the passport), having staff like this makes a world of difference.
