“Great for Central Istanbul Resturants and Nightlife!!”

Great hotel with GREAT service and an outstanding location. Close to the nightlife and restaurants at night. Every night is a new experience in Taksim Square area, so it's a great place to be. Easy taxi rides to Central Bizarre, Blue Mosque, etc.... Definitely will stay again. Great price and great value AND the airport shuttle drops you off right across the street!! Saves a lot of money!

“Istanbul again”

Excellent location & good service when asked for. Rooms bit too small but clean. Had problem with A/C upon arrival, but they fixed it right away when we reported it. If you've got large bags or plan to go crazy on shopping, then room size may be an issue.

Area recommendations

Taksim is great for night entertainment, so after a long day sightseeing in the old city area of istanbul, i find it better suited for us to come back to a hotel that is closer to the party/shopping area. the Sultanahmet (old city) area is cheaper as far as hotels, but not as lively as taksim well into the night.

When to go

better to avoid summer months when everyone is taking their vacations. to get the maximum out of your trip (i.e. good weather conditions AND less crowds) it would probably be best to go in june or september. my winter trip in november 09 was cold but no crowds, which was great.

“very good hotel in the heart of Taksim (Havas Bus Airport drops you right in front of hotel)”

The hotel is good. The room is small but the bed is comfortable and clean. The bathroom is clean with all the necessary amenities. The breakfast buffet was really good. It was Turkish style and that was something I looked forward to every morning. it's basic nothing fancy but really good. The advantage of the hotel is its in the middle of Taksim. Take the Havas Bus from the airport it will drop you off right in front of the hotel. Everything is a walking distance. This however can have a disadvantage during the weekends. neighboring bars/clubs play live music till late at night and can affect your comfort/sleep. During the week it's much quieter. overall it's a good hotel for the price and I would recommend it.

“great deal”

Often, when when we get a big discount on some deal, we tend to expect disappointments somewhere later on. This deal however, was a perfect one. Including the central location of the hotel, easy access to all transports (e.g. airport bus stops in front of the hotel), the really helpful and good staff, the breakfast on the terrace at roof with an amazing view and finally the clean and comfortable room. The trip was ever fun, loved it and will definitely go there again.

“Best place in TAKSIM SQ”

“Great hotel, great location”

The hotel itself is excellent. Location is great, and the rooms are quite nice. But the service is not great.

Beyoglu is a great neighborhood to stay in. The historic sights are in Sultanahmet, which is easily accessible from Beyoglu. Nightlife is better in Beyoglu.

“Would definately go back”

Location was very good - directly across the road from airport bus stops to both airports, 5 mins walk to metro/furnicular station, and the little trolley tram for links to the main areas. Breakfast was excellent - good choice of fresh fruit, honey on the comb, yoghut, breads, meats, cheeses, and the facility for freshly cooked omelettes, and with fantastic views sitting in the sun. Staff very helpful, rooms very clean, fresh towels each day.

Area recommendations

This area great as a base for the conference and for transport. The Old City round Sultanamet is fascinating - so much to see, and lots of restaurants. Very easy to get to via the tram. Need to come back to explore more

Getting around

Taxis are plentiful, but need to learn the Knowledge! Many of our group were taken to a general area and then told they would need to walk the rest of the way, even when they know specifically where they wanted to go. Traffic is busy and chaotic, and taxis drivers are fast and quite reckless! Trams/furnicular are easy to work out - 1 token per trip at 1.50 lire which can be obtained from slot machines, or day/3 day options. From Taksim Sq, can get the furnicular from the metro station, then the tram across to the old city, they can get crowded, but it avoids the road traffic.Picturesque trolley/tram goes in a loop from Taksim Sq down to Tunel area and costs 1.1 lire. Take comfortable shoes for walking as pavements are very uneven!

“Proceed with caution”

The hotel was nice, the rooms were small but nicely appointed. The air-conditioning was turned off for the winter and the room was unbearably hot. I kept the windows open at night but was kept up by the noise until about 2PM. Breakfast was disappointing, not only limited range of food but limited amounts. Roll were in very short supply. I gave up after the first day and hit the local coffee houses for the duration of my stay. Safe in room did not work, placed request to have it fixed but it never happened. It was an OK hotel, location was convenient.

Loved Istanbul and will definitely make the effort to visit again.

“great hotel in the middle of taksim”

this hotel is great for a visit to istanbul. basic, clean, friendly staff. the hotel is located across the street from the airport bus stop, a two minute walk to the funicular and tons of restaurants bars and shops. it had great air conditioning and several english tv channels and reliable wifi

“Loved this place; great breakfast on rooftop terrace”

This place was great, next to tons of restaurants and bars at Taksim Square and excellent transportation options, including a fenicular elevator down to the Bosporus. Excellent service. The best thing about this place besides the location is the rooftop terrace where they serve a wonderful buffet breakfast. The view is phenomenal. The one downside to this place is the street noise if your room faces the street, so try to request a room without a window onto the street. But don't let that keep you from staying here, it was far better than boring, much more expensive places where colleagues were staying. I would definitely stay here again.
