“Ok, Great for Location but poor rooms”
The hotel reception was lovely, the staff helpful and my only gripe was that the pictures of the rooms were very missleading. The rooms were very very small and i wouldn't really call the quality of the hotel - boutique. If you need somehwere for location then it was excellent, (only 2 mins walk to the blue mosque) but if you are staying for more than 1 night, i would look elsewhere.
“Friendliest hotel ever.”
So kind and helpful and friendly. All the staff were lovely. Hotel perfectly adequate in every way. Not much character, but so very conveniently located. A few minutes walk to all main tourist sites, My 85 year old mother could walk everywhere. They put a fresh bottle of water in your room each day. And kettle with tea and coffee. Breakfast OK Everyone mentioned the very hard beds. Yes they were very hard. Double glazing for quiet. No real view, I could just glimpse the sea.
“Nice boutique in the heart of Istanbul”
Nice friendly little hotel in the middle of everything in Istanbul. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean and comfortable basic rooms. Beds a little hard, but they were in a much more expensive hotel too. I would stay there again.
“LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION”
Pleasant enough little hotel above a restaurant. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room rather small (as is usual for single travellers - Oh for the day when our single room supplement payments actually provide us with a normal room rather than a cupboard). No outside windows in my room - there was a window which provided a view of a neighbouring wall 2 feet away. None of this really matters though because this hotel is around 200 yards from the Blue Mosque, Haghia Sophia and the underground cistern. The location really is perfect. So, if you come to Istanbul for the sights, stay at the Faros. If you want a massive room with a view, perhaps go elsewhere.
“Would go back any time”
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Faros Hotel Istanbul. It's perfectly situated, just a stone throw away from all the key sights. The room was contemporary, comfortable and well laid out, the staff friendly and accommodating. It felt a real treat sitting in the restaurant and watching the world go past.
“Excellent Hotel in centre of Instanbul”
Stayed for three days at the Faros and found it to be an excellent choice. The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms regularly cleaned, the position excellent for tourist Istanbul. I will certainly go back there again.
“Would go back anytime, previous reviews were good guide and true.”
Walking distance from main attractions and nearby trams can take you to City Walls or across to Attaturks' Palace (only 75 pence/passenger/trip). Staff very friendly and helpful, I was able to use the Hotel PC to check-in and PRINT our boarding passes for home flight. Meals good but for variety we ate sometimes at other local restaurants. Only gripe was the mattress on hard side for us.
“Great location”
Faros Hotel has an ideal location for sightseeing, with most main sights in easy walking distance. It's also on a tram route for longer journeys. Rooms are clean, food is good and staff are friendly and helpful. It's in a lively area, so if you want a quieter room, ask for one away from the front. Overall, I would certainly recommend this hotel.
“Good value for money”
Very helpful, friendly staff. Good buffet breakfasts, evening meals not bad. Excellent location for major tourist bits. Would definitely recommend and would use again myself.
“One of the Worlds great historic cities”
Great location very friendly staff. money well spent.
