“Very Convenient”
The hotel was right in the middle of the the most popular sites in Old Town. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would suggest getting at least a Jr. Suite if you expect to have room for 2 people. Could hear neighbors when they talked loudly, but street noise was minimal
“Fantastic Location, Accomodating Staff, Updated Spacious Room”
Small boutique hotel (converted charming older building). Located within walking distance of virtually all major sites. Close to Tram and public transportaion. Excellent neighborhhod restaurants. Very well appointed rooms and excellent bath-recently renovated/updated. Friendly helpful staff.
“A Junior Suite is a small, poky room.”
We were somewhat disappointed with this hotel. Our junior suite turned out to be a small, poky room with a view of a wall from the window. The room was clean and had good facilities but was nothing special. At the very least the term 'junior suite' should be explained a little better. The staff tried hard in the main but the service was hit and miss. The breakfast was served in a crowded room, made worse by the heavy furniture. We were only asked on the third morning of our stay if we wanted eggs cooked for us and often when something was empty it wasn't replaced until someone asked. The hotel is well located in a very touristy area - avoid most of the restaurants in the road in our view - but there are lots of similar small hotels in the same area.
“Mixed feelings.”
Very nice rooms that were clean and comortable but no view (just the brick wall of the building next door. Lobby was tiny and looked a little shabby. Restaurant was very small - the included breakfast was poor (the hot food was bad). Chose not to eat there - better options outside. Service was variable - good to indifferent depending on who you dealt with. The steam room and sauna were cold and the "spa/gym" was tiny - none of it worth using. Quite pricey for what you got.. Would use again if got better room pricing.
“Great family hotel”
This was our first trip to Istanbul and the staff at the Acropol made it perfect for us. They were friendly and extremely helpful. Its perfectly located for sight seeing. The Blue Mosque and the Topkapi Palace were a 5 minute walk. The hotel rooms were small but charming with the best showers I've experienced in a European hotel. The children were made feel very welcome. Breakfast was an interesting mix of Turkish food which everyone found something they enjoyed. I would love to stay here again.
“Pleasant Surprise for a Best Western!”
The Acropol hotel is a beautiruful boutique hotel in the Sultanahmet District of Istanbul. The facility is beautiful... the location is great. The classic Ottoman design and decor are beautiful. The staff is great, friendly and accommodating!! The restaurant is very good as well, with excellent service! Our room 401 in the back of the hotel had an excellent view of the Sea of Marmara! In addition, the spa in the hotel is excellent, although small. Only drawback... the entire hotel has marble or wood floors throughout, very beautiful, BUT this causes sound to travel terribly - even if your room is on the 5th floor, the sounds of children running uncontrolled into the lobby area during the night or the infant crying or screaming at 2:00 AM on the 2nd floor, will sound like they are right in your room. Unfortunately, that resulted in no "sleep through" nights for us while we were there. Other than lack of sleep due to kid noise, the place is AWESOME!
“Nice location but not quite there”
The hotel has a good 4 star quality but not a 5 star as stated. Good location but price somewhat too high
“Excellent in all respects!”
Lovely hotel, recently renovated. Great location and the staff was just outstanding. I did lots of looking before I chose this hotel because we were staying for a week. Definitely worth the money.
“great plce for a family to stay”
fantastic location, great hospitality , and comfortable rooms Emran and his staff looked after us very well during our stay in istanbul. nothing was too much trouble and we were treated to some great local food and drink would definitely go back
“Istanbul stay”
We arrived at the hotel were checked in immediately, the hotel staff were very friendly , it is a small hotel but very clean and new. We were extremely happy with the location as we were walking distance to Hagia Sophia, the blue mosque, the grand bazaar . The sultanahmet area is the historic area where you can just walk around and feel that you are part of history. our room was spacious and very comfortable, although it was overlooking the street and we were the 2nd floor we didnt feel it was noisy or anything. Beware of taxi drivers, they are cons and drive like crazy and i come from Cairo!!! Our chilkdren really enjoyed the friendly hotel they felt right at home. Breakfast is ok , limited choice but not bad at all. you can ask them to make you omelettes etc.. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are looking to be around the historic area and all the little cafes etc... Very good value for money.
