“"great hotel"”
Excellent hotel , great location!
“A perfect Location , close to the Grand Bazaar, Tram, Kumpapi, Sultanamet and Mosques.”
The President Hotel is Ideally located for major Sightseeing. It's rooms were Recently remodelled. The Breakfast rooms have sweeping views of the Sea of Marmara. The Single Rooms are a bit on the small side but are adequate for Short visits.
“Great hotel in perfect location.”
This hotel was perfect for our glamorous weekend in Istanbul. We felt welcomed and valued. The hotel itself is in the perfect location for visiting all famous sites and is ideally placed for eating out in the evening whether going down to the shore for the fish restaurants or up towards the Blue Mosque/Topkapi area. We loved the restaurant and space on the top floor - panoramic views of the city - fabulous for sipping cocktails at sun down or sunbathing in the morning! Would highly recommend this hotel for a weekend!
“Great Location”
Excellent location 2 blocks to grand bazaar. 10 minute walk to Hagia Sophia and Blue mosque, a lot of restaurants, currency exchange, shops and pharmacy nearby . Tram station that takes you to most important places 2 small blocks away. We stayed in junior suite, big 2 room suite, big terrace with beautiful sea view, excellent bathroom amenities, excellent concierge service, good breakfast buffet. Would definitely love to return to this hotel.
“Up on the roof”
Great location, very close to the Grand Bazaar and close to many of the other major sights. We wanted a pool and wifi. We got both and were happy. All of the staff with whom we interacted were cheerful and helpful. Pool and sundeck are great and we spent a lot of time there each day, making full use of the pool bar. Eating in the restaurant on the roof is good because the views are outstanding and the service is splendid. The food’s OK but only that, which is a shame. Breakfast was ample, with lots of choice, and with beautiful views of the Bosphorus as you eat. The was wifi throughout the building which is excellent for a geek like me. Unfortunately, the hotel’s Netsafe programme doesn’t let you look at a ludicrous list of unexpected things online: Istanbul restaurants, Frank Sinatra singing Come Fly With Me, anything on Flickr, articles on mythological beasts in ancient Turkish history, I could go on… A farcical state of affairs. On my last morning, even The Guardian was “Engellendi”. I could get onto Facebook and got my e-mails so I didn’t get too irate. The room was good, with every facility expected and well kept by the maid. There was a bottle of water provided every day and coffee making supplies. Had read reviews mentioning the poor soundproofing and noise from the lift repairs but we weren’t troubled by either. We had a great time but I wonder how it would be in winter when you can't enjoy the facilities on the roof. Fine hotel, great city!
“Excellent location Great service”
The hotel turns out to be as we expected - great location convenient for most sights, tram stop within 5 mins walk and staff very helpful. Got a free cocktail from the hotel, dressing gowns available on request for free, breakfast quite good overall. Free use of internet for hotel guests. Must go up and see the great seaside view at the roof top where there is a great poolside bar and sun deck area.
“Istanbul Best Western President AWESOME”
Location, Location, Location.... within close walk distance to Grand Bazzar, Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque, Hippodrome, and more. We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights and loved it. The staff was amazing, especially Tulay with Guest services...Hotel was very clean, great buffet breakfast, amazing views from the roof top restaurant and bar, wi fi, and super comfortable rooms. We would never stay anywhere else!
“True to reviews”
With all the positive reviews I read, I booked with "The President". It was so true to the great reviews. The staff are courteous, helpful, and speak English. Tulay, the concierge, was awesome. Traveling alone as a woman, she pointed me in all the best directions. I walked to all the wonderful sites of the Old City, but the tram which is quite easy to use was a few blocks from the hotel (about a 3 minute walk). I did take the tram to Gulhane Park and to the Galata Bridge. The Grand Bazaar is likewise about a 3 minute walk. The view of the Sea of Marmara from the top floor is gorgeous. Also they convert money (to Turkish Lira) at the front desk. I arranged a tour of the Prince Islands through the hotel (Tulay!) at was so glad I did. The daily breakfast was a feast. I would highly recommend The Best Western - The President.
“Needs a makeover!”
While this hotel is very well positioned for exploring old Istanbul, it is feeling/looking rather tired. I should have had a room with a double bed, but instead only got a twin bedded room (bed not v comfy!) that badly deeded new decor.
“Love this hotel.”
This is the second time I have stayed here. It is a nice, clean hotel that is very close to the bazaar and close to many other sites one should see in Istanbul.
