“A very pleasant stay”

We stayed for four days and had a great trip. The hotel was excellent. The short tram ride into town each day was no problem and added to feeling part of the city. The local people were very friendly and helpful, and there was so much to see, we wished we'd booked for longer. Great value for money. We only ate in the hotel once as we were out and about so much, but that meal, breakfast, was fine.

Area recommendations

You must see the Blue Mosque and St Sophia church/mosque.

“Be careful”

When we asked the desk clerk whether the water from the hotel tap was safe to drink, he answered that it was not and suggested buying bottled water, however in the room, there was no warnings. When staying in a hotel, guests should expect not to get sick from the water! There should be warnings posted, and the management should provide free safe drinking water in each room. Otherwise this hotel was in a convenient location right along the T1 tramline which takes you to the main tourist sights downtown.

“Impeccable Service”

I have no complaints about this hotel for the entire length of the three weeks my wife and I spent here. We came for three days and kept extending again and again due to the excellence in service delivery in every way. The internet is best on the first floor as opposed to the upper levels, but the upper levels are more fully finished in terms of use of wood accents etc. The location is a bit away from things, but it was perfect for us to have the quiet and the tram station directly in front took us to where we needed to go. A touch we really liked was the double windows with air space in between that completely blocked out the noise of the street and tram for perfect serenity during the stay. The exercise room was better than any we have seen in Istanbul but still small relative to the US. The rooms were properly cleaned every time, even as late as 4 PM. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Tramway directly in front of hotel took us to everywhere we needed to go.

Area recommendations

In Istanbul, Sultan Ahmet is the tourist center to be. Then walk over to Eminounu for the ferry boats.

“Not centrally located”

Canot fault hotel facilities, staff and service. Just not convenient for seeing main Istanbul sights

Far from main attractions and required hair-raising taxi rides to get to the places we wished to see.Not all drivers knew the hotel and we were subjected to abuse by a driver who fiddled with the meter and held us hostage until we handed over cash! The hotel itself was fine but I would not recommend staying there if you want easy access to the sights of Istanbul and areas that are tourism friendly (if there is such a thing in Istanbul!).

“Nice hotel, but not really convenient”

Hotel is a little too far away from where you want to be as a tourist! Furthermore as a 5 star hotel in a major European capital i would have expected more staff to speak a little English! Otherwise nice Hotel with excellent spa facilities. Beware of the bar prices, they are as high as i have seen anywhere in Europe!

“Hotel 5 stelle davanti allafermata della metro”

l'hotel è molto bello e si trova in una zona non centrale, ma tranquilla (ovvio che non si respira la magia della città vecchia!). Di buono, oltre alla struttura e il servizio a 5 stelle, ha la fermata del tram/metro proprio davanti e questo ti permette di raggiungere tutti i luoghi di interesse nel modo più veloce ed economico. Meglio scegliere la formula con colazione inclusa, perchè è varia, abbondante e nel complesso più che buona (forse non proprio al livello di un 5 stelle vista la qualità dei succhi di frutta!) e soprattutto perchè nelle vicinanze non ci sono caffè.

“5 Sterne in Istanbul berechtigt - aber nicht spektakulär”

Das Hotel liegt verkehrsgünstig in Topkapi, also quasi in der Nähe des alten Stadtzentrums. Als Geschäftsreisender habe ich in diesem Fall die Nähe zum Fährhafen Yenikapi geschätzt, denn ich musste während des Aufenthaltes auch noch geschäftlich nach Bursa reisen. Bursa ist in ca. 100 Minuten per Schnellboot von Yenikapi aus zu erreichen. Gute Bandbreite im öffentlichen W-Lan, auch auf den Zimmern. Umfangreiches Frühstücksbuffet (war allerdings in meiner Rate nicht enthalten und schlug mit 17 Euro zu Buche).
