A good choice after all!

Posted 21-Oct-2014
Pros: Friendly helpful staff and great location.
Cons: Possibly the breakfast could have more hot choices and the roof terrace a little more active.
Location: The location is first class and everything is on your doorstep.
We weren't that sure about our choice but now really pleased we made it! After an apparent mix up we were escorted to a (very adequate) sister hotel but with profuse apologies and reassurances for the next day. However these were fully carried out and we were upgraded to an elegant suite overlooking both the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sofia, so can't be bad! Staff were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our stay and would recommend the Armagrandi Spina Hotel with its excellent location, to anyone

A GREAT HOTEL

Posted 09-Oct-2014
Pros: See above
Cons: n/a
Location: The location is very convenient to everything.
We booked this hotel at the last minute - a change in our travel plans - and were pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. The terrace has one of the best views in the city. The afternoon tea is a very nice touch. While in Istanbul we stayed at a total of five hotels - we did two tours out of Istanbul - and this hotel was our favourite. If we ever return to Istanbul we will be sure to stay here.

Well located hotel.

Posted 06-Oct-2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Room lighting
Location: All major historic attractions are nearby, most within very easy walking distance
The hotel is very conveniently placed with easy access to all old city historic attractions. Tram line close by and with an Istanbulkart can get to ferry terminals and the new city very efficiently. The hotel staff are very helpful and accommodating. Lighting in rooms is dull and reading in bed difficult. Buffet breakfast is ok, lots of salads and cheese, good bread but dreadful pastries and limited hot ( tepid) options. Overall reasonable value for money although other more reasonably priced options are nearby.

Great location and good value for money!

The hotel is located within about 200 yards of The Blue Mosque and Ayia Sophia. Brilliant location. Friendly, helpful staff. Rooms basic but clean. Good breakfast buffet. I would definitely stay here again.

You Don't Get What You Pay For

Posted 27-Sep-2014
Pros: It was clean and it has the most beautiful views from the roof top. It was also convenient that this hotel is close to the metro.
Cons: I was so disappointed that they charged us for the bottles of water that they put in our room and hadn't told us that there would be a fee.
Location: The main tourist sites of Istabul couldn't be closer.
We chose this hotel for its location and for the family size room it has to accomodate our group of 5. I was immediately disappointed by the size of the "family" room since it was very small and quite cramped. The walls were dirty and the room was very simple, much like a college dorm room. Unfortunately the location proved to be very loud. There was a restaurant nearby that played very loud music late into the night and at five o'clock in the morning the call to prayer woke us up.

A nice hotel and a nice, close to everything, access to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia does not cost you only get out of the hotel and walk a few steps, and away from the metro approximately 3 minutes on foot, his already very wonderful, Workers in the hotel and the reception they would like to serve you with their eyes before their hands I recommend it strongly, and I will return to it In my next trip, In short: a nice hotel, and a nice breakfast, and a wonderful reception.

great location, does not look like its website

Posted 25-Aug-2014
Pros: location
Cons: Accuracy of the web site photos.
Location: Walking distance to all important museums.
Can't complain about the location, 5 minutes walk to the Blue Mosque. Very basic no frills hotel does not look anything like its web site photos but if location is important I would recommend it.

“A nice, basic hotel in a great location!”

Posted 01-Jul-2014
23 Jun 2014 Pros: Location, location, location! Cons: Limited breakfast selection, if this matters to you.... A nice, basic hotel in an amazing location. Literally a 2-minute walk from the Blue Mosque and Aya Sophia,a 5-minute walk to the tourist hub of the city and a the Sultan Ahmet tram stop, a 10-15-minute walk (or 2 tram stops) from the grand Bazaar and 3 short tram stops from the Spice Bazaar and port area. Pleasant and helpful staff and management. Rooms were basic, clean and comfortable. A slightly larger breakfast selection (similar to other comparable hotels in the area) would make a huge difference. It was mostly a cold selection of salads, cheeses and meats together with some scrambled eggs and some sliced chipolata in a tomato-ey sauce (and unfortunately these too were often cool). Some fried options would have been nice. And some cartons of pure juices wouldn’t go amiss – during our stay there was only a strangely thick, rather sickly-sweet orange liquid available. The coffee was also a very strong Turkish variety which was not to everyone’s taste. There was a great view from the roof terrace both of the mosques and the sea, however the bar there was not open when we stayed which made the rooftop eerily uninhabited (while other terraces we could see nearby were buzzing). Overall a very nice and convenient experience, and we would be very happy to stay again.
