Met some very nice people at this resort. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We did have a little issue with some large ants in the bathroom but not enough to effect the rating. Actually saw marine life such as manatee, shark and stingrays come into the marina area. Enjoyed feeding the tarpon at Robbie's. We chose a snorkling adventure with Robbie's as well but there are numerous options available in the area. If you have snorkle equipment at home bring it. The equipment is included in the cost at some places but extra at others. Some in our party actually snorkled in the Bay at the Resort. Highly recommend Bud & Mary's fishing charter. Our captain & mate were excellent in finding the schools of fish. Theatre by the Sea was enjoyable. The dolphin show and sea lion show were great. If you are not a cat lover, beware. There are ALOT of cats at the Theatre. Most are in a fenced in area but a few are roaming around the grounds and in the gift shop. So much so that the gift shop actually smells a little like cat pee. I'm a cat lover and it was even a little much for me. We also took a nice sunset cruise with Family Cruises at Smuggler's Cove. 2 1/2 hour cruise. Captain Kathy was very informative about the area! She took us around the ocean side then we ended up on the Bayside. The sunsets are gorgeous! Try the fried alligator at the Islamorada Fish Company restaurant. It is great! Trading Post is a little pricey so went toTavernier Winn Dixie for groceries. Great time!
After reading some of the negative reviews, I was hesitant to stay at Cheeca Lodge and Spa, but decided to
see for myself as it looked so nice. So glad I went as we everything was wonderful. The staff were helpful,
the restaurants were very good and the hotel is a kept up very well. It was a very relaxing and wonderful vacation.
I stayed at pines and palms for one night with my boyfriend on our trip down the keys. We loved our room in the stilted building. There was a little sitting room/ kitchen at the entrance, then a bathroom and a bedroom. We also had a front patio with table and chairs. We loved having a little extra room compared with a one room hotel.
Staff was very friendly and knowledgable of the area. They recommended midway cafe for a nearby breakfast which was wonderful!!!
Had fun at the pool + bar with already inexpensive buy one get one happy hr cocktails,
Not much to do in islamorada but if you're going to stay a night or two, this is a really cute and relaxing spot! Would definitely stay again!!!

Some parts of he room could have been a little more updated but all and all, a great value for he price. A living area separated from the bedroom, the indoor/outdoor carpet did not really go with the decor but with the sand everywhere, I suspect it made cleaning a lot easier. Very friendly staff, excellent seafood available within a mile. Would not hesitate to return here.
we would stay here again in a heart beat! staff was wonderful. very friendly, excellent recommendations, very flexible with out check in time! it's a little older, but very well maintained. room was sparkling clean and a perfect place to rest out heads. its not a spa, no in room dining etc, bit the whole point is to be outside in the sun anyway!
