We had a new King studio room and it was the best bed we ever slept in. It had mini fridge, coffee maker, full microwave. Lots of drawer space and hang up space. We asked for a hair dryer and ironing board and iron(was there for a wedding), brought it to us. Nice big Smart TV but wouldn't work (ever), did have wifi in room. Really pretty room with a brick ceiling that had lights around it for nice ambiance. GREAT shower!!!!! Staff was magnificent and pools are way cool! We will hopefully be able to return there if prices stay reasonable. If not we will at least always visit.
Hotel is 1 block away from ferry. Great location. Staff was friendly and all spoke English. I chose pool view room, happy I did cause the sea view rooms were facing the noisy street. Rooms were decent, no frills-could of used some art work to liven up the stark white walls but it was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Beds were comfy. My only complaint is that when people were walking by my room, I could here everyone's conversation, maybe thin walls? AC was ice cold, a plus since it was so hot and humid outside. Hotel offered free breakfast from 7:30-9am but I never made it to sample. Make sure to turn in your keys at the end of your stay...I duchy know so I left mine in room so they made me wait until they had someone run up to see if room keys were there. Um, they were just ordinary plastic room keys; not an actual key. Pool was small but after being in the hot sun all day, it was refreshing. They make you put down a cash deposit for pool towels though it gets returned when you bring them back, just little bit of an inconvenience. Won't let it be charged to room. Also, all incidentals must be paid I cash-peso so make sure to bring lots of cash. All in all, was a good stay and I would recommend
I love this hotel. On one if tge best beaches in the world. We rented a suite. Room 2301. Building 2, room 301. This included a kitchen, dining, living room, king bed and walk in shower. Huge patio facing the beach. Very clean. It was a great place to come back to after day at the beach.
The staff is wonderful. Visit Mauricio , the concierge for all your excursions. He was excellent. We booked the Whale Shark excursion thru him. He went out of his way to ensure we had everything we needed and followed up with us upon our return.
We spent several days sitting on the beach. Includes beach chairs, umbrellas and the best staff. Eloy waited on us every day. In fact, we asked for him after the first day. He was attentive, friendly, funny and worked his butt off serving all of us. Good food, buckets of beer and their famous pina coladas. You can charge everything to your room which is a nice convenience. But do remember to tip your wait staff, they work hard.
I have been coming to Isla Mujeres for 15 years. It has changed and grown over the years, but still my favorite. Very safe, awesome local restaurants, good people, best sunsets and beautiful north beach.
This is the best hotel, best location hotel.
I would recommend this hotel to my friends . I would come back for quiet vacation. The stuff was very friendly. Room and hotel clean, food was good. The only thing is that you need to take a farry to go to Cancun, so we didn't do clubing.
We stayed at Na Balam in 2013 and loved it. We went for a music festival--Island Fest. When it was decided to hold the Island Fest on Isla Mujeres again this year we of course decided to stay at Na Balam again. We highly recommend the suite with the plunge pool. Having your own little pool to cool off and overlooking the beach is heaven.
Some reviewers complained about the noise from Fenix bar next door but we found that the loud music was more in the weekend afternoons.
The staff is very nice and helpful. Check-in went smoothly. We had and issue with the in room safe and the TV and they responded very quickly and fixed both.
Our room had a king size bed (very comfortable) and a sitting area. The room was clean and well laid out--plenty of drawers. Our room did have a TV but several other guests mentioned their's did not--last time none of the rooms had TV's so maybe they are just starting to put them in.
After my initial review, the management addressed my concerns. One of the concerns was not cleaning the room until after 4:00 p.m. The management responded immediately, and my room (and the others in my group) had our rooms cleaned before lunch time and did a great job. I appreciated that the staff allowed us to store our luggage as we had arrived early. This allowed us to go eat and look around. They also allowed us in our rooms early (at least 45 mins early), before check-in time, which helped tremendously when starting our vacation.

The hotel size was great and right on the beach. The staff was friendly and all inclusive means all inclusive! We were given an upgrade upon arrival. The rooms were spacious and the bed very comfortable. My husband celebrated a milestone birthday and the staff made it special with decorations,cake,champagne...little details that meant a lot. My only complaint is it took 3 days to get reservations for the Thai cuisine restaurant. I will definitely be going back.
Accessible by ferry, Isla Mujeres is a major ecotourism destination. El Parque Natural Garrafón (Garrafón Natural Reef Park) features coral reefs inhabited by schools of fish. Giant sea turtles come ashore at Tortugranja to lay eggs. North of Isla Mujeres, thousands of rare and tropical birds roost at a natural sanctuary on Isla Contoy.
