Nice hotel with extremely friendly staff who is always willing to help and to serve. The only complaint was the food was hit or miss. But because we did the all inclusive option we could try everything and then continue to eat what we liked. Overall I would recommend for a nice relaxing stay.
We have just returned from a stay in Isla Mujeras. It was a fabulous holiday and the Hotel Bucaneros suited our needs perfectly. if you are wanting a resort-style all-inclusive holiday, this is not for you. If you like staying in the middle of the action, trying out new bars and restaurants, and a more local, laid-back feel, then this hotel will suit your needs. Deposits are required for the safe key in your room and beach towels. The breakfast is good (fruit, toast, tea, coffee) and included in the price.Proximity to the beach is excellent!
Zoetry got this right. They are accumulating very special properties. This was different from all the others that I have visited. The one thing that I expect form there resorts was great food, drinks, service, and relaxation. This is what there resorts are about! They nailed it.
We stayed at Na Balam in 2013 and loved it. We went for a music festival--Island Fest. When it was decided to hold the Island Fest on Isla Mujeres again this year we of course decided to stay at Na Balam again. We highly recommend the suite with the plunge pool. Having your own little pool to cool off and overlooking the beach is heaven.
Some reviewers complained about the noise from Fenix bar next door but we found that the loud music was more in the weekend afternoons.
The staff is very nice and helpful. Check-in went smoothly. We had and issue with the in room safe and the TV and they responded very quickly and fixed both.
Our room had a king size bed (very comfortable) and a sitting area. The room was clean and well laid out--plenty of drawers. Our room did have a TV but several other guests mentioned their's did not--last time none of the rooms had TV's so maybe they are just starting to put them in.
Accessible by ferry, Isla Mujeres is a major ecotourism destination. El Parque Natural Garrafón (Garrafón Natural Reef Park) features coral reefs inhabited by schools of fish. Giant sea turtles come ashore at Tortugranja to lay eggs. North of Isla Mujeres, thousands of rare and tropical birds roost at a natural sanctuary on Isla Contoy.
