“Highly recommended hotel in ishcia”
Can’t say enough good things. All the staff is very friendly and always ready to help. A nice location near aragonese castle, gorgeous clean rooms, the nice thermal spa with free ! I had an amazing stay and would highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Ischia. It was like paradise.
“Would go again tomorrow!”
Hotel Villa Durrueli is situated between Ischia Porto and Ischia Ponte, within walking distance of both (and the Castello Aragonese) but only two minutes walk from a bus stop which would take you into Ischia Porto in about 7 minutes. It's close to the beach and shops but in a quiet residential area. The facilities are excellent and the hotel has made the best of its grounds. Everything was spotlessly clean and the pool area has all the amenities you could wish for, with the added bonus of never being crowded. Breakfast was good, although some days there was more choice than others. The reception staff were very pleasant and extremely helpful, although, if your Italian is not up to scratch, it is worth brushing up on your German as all staff could speak German but English was much more hit and miss! The Aqua Wellness Area with its Spa pool and Turkish baths was a welcome treat at the end of a busy day, although the aroma/colour showers were not working when we were there so we might have to go back to try them! Also, book yourself a treatment at the Beauty Farm. The rooftop solarium had tables, chairs and a peaceful shaded sofa area which is a pleasant place to relax. Our room was on the bottom floor with our balcony just in front of the breakfast area which we initially weren't happy about. However, we soon came to realise that being 10 steps from the pool, from breakfast and from the spa could only be a good thing! One tip though....give any evening entertainment a miss!
“A Little Gem I'd Love to Keep Secret.....”
While Capri is a tourist destination for many an international traveller, the quaint island of Ischia, located 1 hour from the port of Naples could be one of Italy's best kept secrets. Complete with several ports, a low-key shopping area, active fishing inlets, medieval castle (ready for touring), thermal spas, and a pristine public park with trails a-plenty, Ischia could be just the place you're looking for when it comes to total relaxation. At the Villa Durruelli Resort & Spa, a short walk is all that would be needed to access the highlights of the island. However, it is located a few steps from the public bus stop for those who want to explore the southern coasts. Secluded on the back side of the park, early morning strolls with greetings by the many local kittens were frequent. In addition, the park provides a lovely buffer to the bustle of the shopping corridor where music and food was found in abundance on any given night. The staff was courteous and helpful, the property immaculate, and included a crystal clear pool and hot tub that provided breath-taking views. A delicious breakfast was served each morning, snacks were available pool-side and a complete lunch/dinner menu varied each day. The Villa Durruelle will definitely be the place I'll head the next time I need to 'escape' from the realities of life. Only next time..... I'll be taking advantage of the spa features and NEVER leave! Thumbs up for this one!
“excellent hotel”
had a lovely room with balcony overlooking the castle. enjoyed the wellness centre and outside pool. staff very friendly and willing to help at all times.
“September 2007”
Lovely hotel in peaceful location, only 5 minutes walk to Ischia Ponte where there are a few great local restaurants. The beach is also only 3 minutes walk away and is very clean and well serviced with sun loungers, toilets and restaurants. The hotel staff were very helpful, the Director will even show you around the hotel if you ask. They can recommend a good car rental service which I strongly recommend as Ischia has plenty of beautiful beaches that must be visited.
“A lovely picturesque island”
Pleasant quiet good location for site seeing. Were only bed and breakfast but ate in three times the quality of the food was good. Only had one waiter on the pool bar which was fine but then if people wanted a pre dinner drink there was no one manning the main barinside the hotel. Also as we were there at a local festival time we felt that they could have made more of this advertising to guests and having a waiter serving drinks on the roof while people were watching the late night fireworks display.
“Great Hotel”
Booked a short break, selecting the hotel on the basis of reviews on the web. Delightful hotel, with lovely swimming pool, which was available for use when we stayed in April. Staff very friendly. We decided to book sea view rooms, which was well worth the extra money. The Hotel seems to have been recently refurbished and was in excellent condition and very clean.
“Very good hotel in Ischia”
Very good hotel thermal spa was great The view from room was amazing, specially before and at sunrise Good food in the restaurant Few comments: Breakfast could be better and should be for a 4 star and the service in the restaurant could be better The bathroom in the room should be replaced with a new one, was clean but we expect more from 4 star hotel
“Durrueli for single travellers”
Clean, friendly, excellent location within walking distance of both ischia porte and ponte. Limited availablity of food throughout the day if like me - you need a couple of days pool-side. The single rooms are TINY. Clean yes but watch out for room 215 its a prison cell. They were very accommodating when i asked to be moved and got a similar sized room with a terrace. Beds in both were pretty uncomfortable. I generally can sleep on anything but i didnt feel it rated its four stars. Dont let above put you off if in normal or larger double - people seemed satisfied. I found the staff charming and very helpful.
“Very good value for money”
We were very impressed with this hotel. It is extremely clean; the rooms are not huge but more than adequate. We booked a superior room (middle range of their rooms) which had a large side balcony (not sunny but still very pleasant). We ate in the restaurant one evening - we thought it lacked atmosphere and the food was not brilliant but it was ok. The breakfast was the same every day but very good. The staff answered all queries efficiently and to our satisfaction. The only tiny thing against was our shower was a little elderly and leaked from the hose a bit. Otherwise absolutely no complaints and would definitely stay there again. The hotel is located between Ishhia Porto and the Ponte (closer to the Ponte) and is in a quiet cul de sac next to the park. The swimming pool is not heated but warm enough in early october to swim in and very private in location. There is an indoor hydrotherapy/turkish bath suite which is elegantly decorated and relaxing. Enjoy!!
