Hotel itself is run down from the outside and on the inside has clearly been remodelled and improved. I would say its a 3* when compared to US hotels. Its functional and clean albeit the bathrooms need updating.
This is a well located hotel with lovely, modern amenities (swimming pool, gym and a proper steam sauna) and solid room quality. Breakfast was ok with good selection of fresh juices, some fruit, bread, cakes, scrambled eggs etc. I give it a 5 star rating for Rio in the same price range. It seems to be a popular hotel for business travel.
Despite its not too appealing exterior it is actually pleasant and modern inside.
Would definitely stay again.
This is a wonderful hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are small but clean, modern and comfortable. The neighborhood is great. The restaurant in the hotel is exceptional, both for dinner and for the included breakfast.
This hotel is right in the middle of Ipanema and Cococabana beaches. It is a good basic hotel, nothing fancy. For example my room was 2 twin beds, a mini-fridge with snacks (which were not cheap, oh yes, the price of convenience) a medium sized plasma television on the wall, and a writing desk with a chair that went with it. In the bathroom there were 2 medium sized towels, 2 large towels, mini bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. So you should bring a couple of small towels for your face. The shower is overhead in the shower stall and you have to wait a minute for the hot water to heat up, then it works fine. I was on the second floor and heard a lot of the construction and goings-on of the cleaning crew, etc. Oh yes the air conditioning unit worked, however you couldn't turn it lower than medium level, so I had to turn it off at night or it would get too cold.
"Nice hotel - close to the beach. Friendly staff."
My wife and I stayed here with our 18 month old daughter. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, even with special requests like heating up a bottle each night. The location was great - about 50m from the beach and there is free towels, chairs, and umbrellas at the beach each day. This section of the beach is geared towards LGBT but there were lots of families too and it was still a very quiet scene overall, so much that our baby even napped under the umbrella some days. We preferred Ipanema to the Copacabana beach also.
The area surrounding has lots of restaurants and shopping and we felt very safe the whole time walking at night. It's not the cheapest area but there are grocery stores, etc if you want to save a bit on costs. There isn't as much English spoken in the restaurants or shops but with a friendly smile and with menus and prices posted, it was easy enough to figure out.
Great hotel, friendly and helpful staff, fantastic location and finishes making this a contemporary and modern hotel. Great amenities including a truly impressive rooftop pool, bar and view, however some area for improvement . Specifically, air con incredibly noisy, very limited sound proofing meaning all noise from other rooms , corridors very loud. Something that is worth while noting if you plan to stay there on a Friday or Saturday night, be prepared for some very loud music until 4am. We were staying on the 2nd floor and the rooftop bar was on the 8th; even with ear plugs you couldn't escape the music blaring very loudly. A great hotel but sound proofing is a definite issue !
Overall our stay at Caesar Park, Ipanema was great. The staff was very helpful with arranging private transport to and from the airport (well worth the cost to feel secure!), restaurant recommendations, and anything else we needed. The concierge even went out of their way to call the tour company when there was a mix up and helped us make sure everything worked out. Also, breakfast that was included was pleasing and convenient.
This hotel is in a great location right across from the beach (which CP provided free chairs and towels) and on the boardwalk which you can walk easily all the way down Ipanema beach to Copacabana beach. If you like, you can also rent bikes from the public stops along the boardwalk to ride all around the city (daily pass $R5,0). Also within short walking distance of great restaurants. We were choosing between hotels in Copacabana location and Ipanema when originally booking. Very glad we chose Ipanema due to the amount of restaurants/shops/walkability and a bit more upscale that Copacabana. We felt very safe the entire time!
Only down side to the hotel was the room was very noisy on the oceanfront. Loud winds and traffic noise was loud.
Super friendly and helpful staff. Excellent food. Restaurant view was ideal being one floor up with windows facing the ocean. Attentive wait staff. Included breakfast was a rich buffet. A small rooftop patio but still a great view up and down the beach with a refreshing little pool. Proximity to beach couldn't be better with towel and chair service provided. Main street of Ipanema was only a few blocks in, Leblon shopping a good walk of short taxi ride. Room was clean and spacious with all amenities and a huge window view of ocean. Nespresso coffee system in room. Window could be opened wide for sea breeze and sound of surf - and traffic.
The staff are exceptional and bend over backwards to try and be as helpful as they can. They are always smiling and greet you warmly. Fabulous location mid way between Ipanema and Copacabana Beach. The rooms are a little tired but reasonably priced. I also felt safe at this hotel.

Forever immortalized by the 1960s bossa nova hit, “The Girl from Ipanema,” Ipanema remains at the vanguard of Rio beach society and nightlife. On Sundays, Rio’s tanned denizens socialize along Avenida Vieira Souto, which is closed to car traffic for this weekly event. West of Ipanema, Leblon tends to be less crowded than other city beaches. Rio’s botanical gardens lie directly north of Leblon.
