This is a beautiful hotel set in wonderful surroundings of landscaped gardens. Open fires were burning in all main public areas. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Wedding food was delicious and well served. Our bedroom was large and we had a 4 poster, which was a nice surprise. Drinks are quite pricey but they had an excellent whisky selection. Our only problem was that the hotel was not in our Satnav and the hotel entrance sign was not illuminated...so we drove past it in the dark.
The best thing about the hotel is the friendliness of the staff. I was made to feel very welcome and they asked about my journey when I arrived. During my stay they took an interest in where I had been and what I had been doing. Richard is nice, laid back and friendly.
The kippers for breakfast were superb and a great start to the day.
The hotel is very convenient for Grampian Transport Museum, Alford Valley Railway and Craigievar Castle.
The hotel is in a very pretty location on the banks of the River Dee and the conservatory where you have breakfast looks out to the river and the bridge and over to the fields.
Macaroni cheese for dinner one night was a big and tasty portion, ideal if you have been out walking or cycling like me. Fish and chips the next night was equally good. They have a good selection of whisky at the bar.
The room was simple, but I didn't need anything more as I was out and about all day. It was spotlessly clean and the bed very comfortable. Minor point is that the water pressure for the shower could be better.
I really enjoyed my stay and would recommend the hotel to anyone planning a visit to the area.
One of the nicest hotels I've stayed in for a long time! Located by Loch Aboyne my room overlooked the loch on a beautiful sunny evening. There was an air of calm about the place not found at most "normal" hotels, probably due to there only being 14 rooms and there being no noisy traffic or passers-by to contend with.
The room was modern, very clean with a very comfy bed. The flat screen tv was handy for watching the World Cup games too! My patio doors opened to let in the sights and sounds of the loch (although I did have to contend with a few midges as expected due to the waterfront location).
The evening meal in the restaurant was nicely presented although a larger portion would have been welcome (not really a complaint as the quality was very good). Morning breakfast was as you would expect with a choice of continental or freshly fried fayre.
All-in-all a very pleasant stay at a reasonable price for the area and I would definitely consider staying there again.
Staying in a Huntly arms was one of the best decision. It is a three star but is very cozy and gives you the home feel environment. The staff are very kind. Helpful and friendly. I am definitely going back again.
