“Not clean”

The hotel was big and had a lot of room. The hotel employees were not friendly, they acted like we were in the way. No hello or good-byes. The room was nice but dirty. The pillow case, sheets, and even the towels had black marks on them. It looked like the sheets weren't changed at all. I wasn't very happy bringing my kids in this hotel.

“Very pleasant”

Its a nice place to stay specially if you are with family with that extra room and has all the amenities and kitchen utensils. Its just a little distance from restaurants and shops, so its good to have rental car.

“Good value”

Good value for what you get. It's extended stay so no daily housekeeping, but very comfortable and staff was friendly and courteous. Room was very clean and really very nice. A car is a must and watch out for the elevator. It stopped working while we were there - didn't really affect us, but apparently it goes on the fritz quite often. The fact that it is a suite with kitchen is very nice too.

“Great stay!”

We wanted a suite, this suite was above and beyond what we wanted. It had two bedrooms, which made it very easy for our son to adjust to the stay. The place was very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Oh and by the way; there is a pool.

“While at Candlewood Suites some got stuck in the elevator needed fire department to get out”

The rooms were just how theie site said they would be. Service at the front desk was not the greatest. The site said that the shuttle would take us back and forth to the convention center but the hotel said that it would only make one trip per hour. Which is bad when you have 12 floors of guest and only 12 people can fit on the shuttle at one time. They would not let you sign up the bus a day or two ahead to get a seat on the bus. When some of our people got stuck on the elevator I called the front desk and could not get anyone. Once the fire dept. came no one from Candlewood showed up to check to see if we were ok. This elevator had been acting up all week, people getting stuck, why was not something done about this after the first time it happened?

Area recommendations

The neighborhood was fine it was next to the zoo, by the river a very beautiful place in terms of the scenery. Easy to get to the downtown area.

“Great Room”

We had a two bed suite, but didn't realize that we would be getting what we got for the money. I was like a 2 bedroom apartment. Was very spacious and great location. Far enough away but close enough to downtown. Would definatly go back next time!

“Spacious Rm, but must have a car to get around”

Front desk staff very attentive and helpful, shuttle services were also a nice feature. Area is very quiet but also very far from local conveniences. If you rent a car atleast parking is free. Room was spacious and kitchen area was a plus but room smelled of heavy cigar smoke (stale). If going during Indy 500 like I did, beware that IMS shuttle services pick up route is not close to hotel, traffic is very heavy and certain roads are closed.

“Best in every respect!!”

I am a hard customer to satisfy because I travel on business and need a super fast internet connection, quiet, space for working and relaxing, a quiet location that's also easy to access from medical centers. Plus, I am a total foodie with some very strict dietary requirements. Candlewood Suites can't be better for me: What amounts to a very nice 1 bedroom apartment: Compact comfortable living room, efficient full kitchen with generous space for eating, free fast internet, roomy bedroom, and clean roomy bathroom. Nice folks. Great location. Great price. Absolutely can't be beat.

Area recommendations

INDY is great. Try the museums and Eagle Creek Park, plus Main Street Yarn (if you're a knitter.) Udupi Cafe has great Indian vegetarian food. Looks funky outside but is fine insite.
