We stayed three nights on our trip to Iguazu and had a nice room with a terrace looking into the jungle. We were about 200m from the pool and 250m from the main lodge. It was a $US5 cab ride to town and the falls were probably ten minutes away and about $US10. We tried to use the bus, but a cab picked us up at the bus stop and offered a ride for the cost of two bus tickets. We ate in the restaurant all three nights and had great meals each time. Also ate three of the breakfasts which were nice, but similar to all other breakfasts we had at hotels in South America.

We stayed at Amerian Portal as a part of a 3 location, 2 week holiday. The hotel was such a pleasure. The staff were helpful and spoke English well. The hotel itself was well appointed and really is a resort offering in a small, regional area. The hotel was a haven away from the Puerto Iguazu township but close enough to allow a comfortable stroll into the township to shop and experience some local culture.
The pool is a focal point for the hotel along with the restaurant area. If you can't relax at the Amerian Portal then I
would suggest that you are going to find it hard to relax anywhere.

"If you have a quick trip to the falls, stay here"
This hotel was near perfect for our stay. We arrive just before sunset then had 1 full day and 1 half day. We were upgraded to a room with a view of the falls thanks to my husband's status. That was WAY worth it. The first night we ordered room service, sat on our balcony and enjoyed the falls. We hired our driver from the airport to drive us to the Brazil side the following day. The concierge at the hotel was not helpful in this regard. He was vague and sometimes not there. We were able to book a Gran Adventure through the tour company at the hotel. she was helpful. Breakfast was excellent. A nice buffet complete with fruit, egg whites as well as dulce de leche pancakes. Besides the concierge, the only other thing I would change or note to future guests, if you want a coke or extra water, you have to go to the bar/restaurant or order room service as the little gift shop in the hotel has nothing in terms of snacks or drinks. Overall, it was a wonderful trip and we would definitely stay here again! Thank you!
This is a large but very comfortable hotel with great rooms and facilities. The staff were very helpful and friendly and gave us good advice about our trip to the Iguazu falls. The food was very good and plenty of choice for breakfast.

We flew in from Buenos Aires to see the Falls and stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. It was very clean, quiet and had an exceptional buffet breakfast. The bus (or cab) to the falls was a short 1 block walk from the hotel.
