Dear guest:Expedia does not include 12% of IVA on their page, it is constant problem to receive reservation from this page. Only international guest are exempt to pay the tax (12%). If you ask for an invoice with the information of an Ecuadorian the 12% must be charged, on several times we tried to explain you to please give us the information of the international guest in order to proceed with the invoice without taxes. Otherwise the hotel has to assume the taxes, 12 % of every reservation, it is imposible to run a business like this. The problem here is Expedia that gets more reservations and the commission excluding the taxes to show unreal rates. Even though we asked Expedia to write a final message at the end of the reservation informing the guests that the taxes are not included, some guest ( in this case, YOU) didn't read it, About what you write, that your reservation was already paid, it lacks of truth, Expedia asks for you credit card information, but you where not charged, most clients think that because they put the credit card information on the Expedia reservation page, you are automatically being charged. On hi season, we make phone calls to make sure the clients are not going to cancel at last minute, and ask for a confirmation payment, do you know how many reservations we get from these pages, and they do not arrive, and we have empty rooms that we couldn't sell??? About the taxes problem, we are already talking to Expedia to have our property taken out, since this is a constant problem.On the other hand, the amount the hotel wanted to charge you, was because you had an extra person on the room, in any hotel of the world if you bring more guests that what you claim on the reservation, you will be charged. It is unacceptable that you write a comment with lack of truth, without letting us explain the situation, in this case we had to assume the 12% TAX, since you couldn't even give us the information of the international guest, we ask for several times, assuming we were trying to be shady as you claim on this unfair comment.
