The hotel is very convenient for Chelmsford city centre and has good parking provision. Our room was small but comfortable and had all we needed. The staff were all delightfully friendly and helpful and the snacks and drinks we had in the bar were very good.
The Hotel reception staff were very helpful and friendly. The room we stayed in could have done with a coat of paint as it was looking a bit worse for wear. The shower needed fixing as it only sprayed straight down as it wouldnt stay in any other position, but as we were only there for one night it didnt really cause any problems. Having said that the room was clean and tidy, the bed was very comfortable. The bar area was pleasant as were the staff in there.
All things considered I would give the Hotel and staff a thumbs up, and would stay there again. In actual fact this was the second time we had stayed at this particular hotel...the first time being way back in 2006.
It says free WiFi but I couldnt get my notebook to work....but that may have been my notebook not the hotels WiFi.
had 3 nights in December and ate each night in the lounge, which was really good value together with an excellent choice of dishes. The Irish stew is particularly good. Beds are very large and comfortable, Bathroom could use more heating!

Clean and tidy rooms, friendly staff, good value for money. Reception is sometimes left unattended and tv in room didnt work at first but once I asked the man at reception to fix the tv he did so promptly. Booked a room another week when the hotel was busy and was double booked so had to go to another hotel 10mins away.
