“Convenient to the Renaissance Festival”

I picked this hotel because of its proximity to the Carolina Renaissance Festival. It was very clean, and was also convenient to restaurants and a grocery store. Since we plan to go to the Renaissance Festival every year (if possible), I think we've found our regular hotel for that annual trip.

Large clean, comfortable room. Excellent service from hotel staff. Excellent value.

For the price of this hotel, we were very satisfied with the accommodations.

“Okay to stay, great if you travel w/pets.”

We've stayed here before and found it to less than clean, with offensive odors. However on this stay, it was cleaner and the smell was gone. The staff were attentive and respectful of not entering our room because we had our cat with us. The free breakfast is just okay for a quick start, except the coffee could be stronger. We' ll stay there again.

“Hallway smelled of pet urine”

Upon arriving at the motel, everything looked great. Receptionist was great, knew I had a pet, reservations were confirmed, saw the quaint breakfast area, pool area looked nice, etc. Went to the car, parked and then we entered the hallway to our room. The hallway reeked of animal urine. It was overwhelming. While I understand hotels try to keep guests with pets in one area, this was pretty bad. I think its a shame people allow their pets to urinate inside. My dog is housebroken and would never do that. If he did, I have pet cleaner and would scrub up the mess. The next day the smell wasn't as strong because it seemed they may have shampooed the carpet, but it was still pretty bad. The woman, different person, at the front desk in the morning, spent the whole time on her cell phone and we had to interrupt her to refill empty breakfast things, milk, utensils, etc. The coffee was horrible (could see thru it), no fruit, white bread only. The only good thing was cereal and belgian waffles. Its an okay motel if you are just spending the night and gone all day. Was visiting family all day. Didn't use the pool.
