A well placed hotel, just out of the hustle and bustle, but accessible. Beautifully extended buildings, oozing with the charm of a Hercule Poirot 1930s set, and looked after by staff of great charm and courtesy. An island of calm and class in the heart of Vietnam.

Spent a couple of days in Hue for sightseeing. The city itself has a certain sad feel due to rain, run down buildings and abandoned construction projects. In the middle of this slump, Eldora rises as a majestic and glamorous structure. My wife made a remark that she felt like a ruler surveying her territory from a castle up on a hill. Our room was very beatiful with a nice view. Bathroom was lavished with marble and room was decorated in Bell Époque quality furnishings. Only complaint from my wife was pillows were a bit too high and hard - should have been duvet instead of foam. Breakfasts were exceptional with a wide range of Hue specialties. The food was delicious and much better than many "famous" restaurants we had the opportunity to sample during our short stay. What's more impressive were the restaurant staff who went way beyond their call of duty to please us. Attentive, warm and polite they made our stay in Hue one of the most memorable anywhere. Front desk could exercise a bit more discretion. Hue disappointed but Eldora certainly gets our vote.
We enjoyed our stay at the Pilgrimage. It was a few km's from Hue but taxi fares are so cheap it didn't really matter and we booked our cars to pick us up from the hotel anyway. We went in November so it was a little cool to really enjoy the poolside area which was really pretty. We did go for a swim in the pool anyway. Our room had the hugest bathroom and a balcony as well as a couch inside to enjoy the air con. The staff were very polite and helpful. The only drawback was the pricey mini-bar and restaurant, but at a luxury hotel such as this it was expected. Also the breakfast was expensive and not included but everywhere else we stayed included breakfast. Overall we would loved it and would go back.
Had two nights in the Imperial in a beautiful room with wonderful double-aspect view of the river and city. The staff were unfailingly polite and helpful, the food and service in the restaurant were excellent. Would happily return to the Imperial and recommend it to others.

Nice big rooms. Higher floors and restaurant/ bar have good views. Staff very helpful suggesting and booking tours- we went on a private boat tour to the pagoda and it wasn't expensive. Dreadful manicure in spa in hotel though ( not owned by them).
From the second we walked in, we were treated like kings here. The level of care and attention is second to none - I was travelling with a friend who has travelled extensively and commented that nowhere in the world had she had service like this. They were kind, interested and helped us with everything (booking tours, suggestions, taxis, restaurants, etc). The restaurant is lovely and we ate there a couple of times by choice. From the bell boys to the managers, all staff were exceptional. For the price, this place is amazing.
