“Clean and comfortable”

I stayed at one of the pricier historic inns on a previous trip to Hudson and would definitely rate the St. Charles above the much more expensive places to stay. It was far cleaner and much more comfortable than the other place and "quaint" and "historic" may be nice on a day tour but clean and comfortable is preferable for a place to sleep. The guy at the front desk was very friendly and helpful when I asked him where to get a bite for dinner. He said there are 23 restaurants within a short walking distance from the hotel and choices ranging from American bistro to Japanese to Indian to Mexican.

This place looks poor and old on the outside but the inside is very adequate and the best part of the hotel is the newly decorated rooms which were very clean. Breakfast (continental) was complete and varied. A computer is available but the printer was out of ink so I could not print my airline boarding pass and no one on duty knew how to fix it. Once again..very clean and comfortable rooms...I hope they are all the same but do not know.

“HUDSON, N.Y. ST. CHARLES HOTEL- A GREAT PLACE FOR DRUGS!”

I have already wrote and explained the issues with this hotel. Beautiful rooms, fair rates, great location. Problems; twice stayed there recently, both times drugs and smoking weed heavily in adjoining rooms! last stay had gangsta-rappers partying at 1 to 3 in the morning in an adjoining suite! I had to call front desk 5 times, and finally after threatening to call the police, I was offered a new room. Yes, I HAD TO MOVE., NOT THE DRUGGIES NEXT DOOR.. These criminals brought boom boxes into their rented suite and started playing loud music, screaming and yelling and laughing, with no regards to the fact that they were staying at a nice hotel. Since this has happened two times in the last 3 months, I assume that the PATEL FAMILY who owns the hotel only cares that they fill rooms. They ought to have a sign PLASTERED in front of the reception desk 'NO DRUGS- NO PARTIES- NO LOUD NOISE". I also have issue with the fact that on non-smoking wings in the hotel, entire wings designated non-smoking wreaked with cigarette smoke and that cigarette odor floated into ones room at night unless you put a towel under your door. The hotel is a wonderful place; someone tell the owners to clean up the management act.

“Fair price, good location”

The town of Hudson is wonderful. The hotel was conveniently located and comfortable. A nice option is you are not into Bed & Breakfasts

When we checked out, the lady show me the bill of our stay, I looked at the totaled, something was not right, she over charged me. The bill was more than the totaled shown on the confirmation. After i talked to her about this, she issued a refund of $30 to my credit card. But that still wasnt right, i said give me a min, let me see the bill again. Then she checked with the manager, and issued me an another refund of $20. She refunded me in totaled of $50. Also, one of the pillow got black dots on it. Overall, It's a ok hotel.
