“nice hotel but isolated”
Lovely pool and room. Food over priced. Charge for shuttle. 25 minutes from Hua Hin. Not much to do other than pool and beach. Good choice if you plan to sit and relax.
“Not impressed”
Have just completed 7 nights stay at Grand Pacific Sovereign and was not really impressed, even though I was expecting better from reading previous reviews. No free internet in room. One complimentary bottle of drinking water per person per day; 1 sachet of Nescafe per person per day (with whitener - no milk) and 1 bar of soap for the week is not what one expects from a '5 star hotel' Ate in the hotel most nights but the staff do not have a good understanding of English so thank god my partner was Thai and she could explain. On same trip have booked some nights at Lebua State Tower in Bkk and this is brilliant. The 2 hotels do not compare - Lebua is far better. The location of GPS is quite remote but they do run a shuttle service - mind you it needs to be booked 1 hour in advance or they dont run it! Breakfast is good, but again does not compare with Lebua. I will go elsewhere next time.
“Well worth the stay”
It was great and the staff were very kind to my wife when she could not buy insect itch spray! They gave her their supply! The breakfast staff was constantly serving fresh brewed Italian style coffee. The best in our two week stay in Thailand! We had a problem with a pool attendant who asked us over three times if we signed for a pizza that we did with another attendant. And at checkout they wanted to charge me for a glass soap that was not attached to a very elegant bath tub and fell off the stand and broke. I explained that they should not have it in such a precarious position that could break so easily. I wrote a letter to that effect and that was the end of the matter. The Italian Restaurant Celestino was the best in Thailand and one of the best I have ever been in among Italian restaurants in Italy, Japan and THE USA! I was so amazed to find it in Chaam , Thailand! Right by the water and well designed outdoor cafe style! Wish the pool water was warmer but we were there in December! Wish the pool had been heated a bit or they had a jacuzzi next to it to warm up a bit! ANyway A very beautiful pool and illuminated very well! Very romantic!!!! Go there for your honeymoon! OR second honeymoon!
“Good choice”
The hotel was better than expected and well worth the stay. The breakfasts were more than adequate with a good variety of Asian and Western foods. The rooms except for the small balconies and clothes closets though the lack of an iron was unusual in a hotel of this class. There are two great swimming pools. The hotel is self contained and at the far south end of Cha-am beach far enough away from the local young kids that arrive in their thousands over the weekends. However during the week Cha-am is deserted as always. This is the beach of choice of the non-hiso which frequent Hua HIn just 12 Klm south. Its a pleasant change from Hua Hin with many good and medium restaurants to choose from apart from the rather high priced hotel restaurants. (Check with the local for the best places) We went to the Chom Talay which was very hard to find just north of the canal overlooking the beach served the very best seafood! Cha-am remains the same as ever rather un-charming scruffy place with a great beach and good inexpensive seafood and hordes of teenagers and smelly trash bins. Still the very pool relative of Hua Hin but generally a very good hotel far enough away from the weekend crowds to be an enjoyable alternative to the rather tatty overcrowded and expensive Hua Hin.
“Modern, comfortable and secluded.”
The Grand Pacific Sovereigh deserves its 4.5 to 5 star rating. It is modern, comfortable and secluded. The beach is terrific and the staff is extremely attentive. The restaurant menus are okay but a bit pricy... the breakfast buffet was very good. Other hotel services (shuttle, spa, recreational rentals) were also pricy. But, bottom line, we preferred to use the hotel restaraumnts and services because the total experience represented great value. Get a sea-view room.
“Great experience all around”
The hotel was great; pool, room and breakfast were all fantastic. I would highly recommend this property to anyone - good value as well... I choose this property as the ideal location to propose marriage to my girlfriend. The setting was ideal and the ammenities were 1st rate.
“ohohja”
A beautiful new hotel in cha-am beach But staff still lack experience Less Staff Lobby chek-in queue waiting time. Water based turbid. Refrigerator not cold
“Book it, the best deal i have found in my 4 month trip in Asia!”
Dont look anywhere else, for this price you cant get anything better. This was 5+ star hotel, excellent service, food, quality.... For the price this place is a super bargain. Big room, safe, big bath, toilleteries, fruit in your room, sea view balcony, 3 swiming pools, beach club, 4 restaurants, friendly staff help you if you want to move around or afar. There is a great spa but that is actually at 5+star pricing jejeje.
“Great hotel, Great holiday, Great thai people”
Great Holiday started with Thai Airways flight, Checked into the hotel great start greeted with a cooling towel and refreshing drink, had transfer organised by the hotel would recommend, 3 hour journey from Bangkok airport, but huge taxi very clean and air conditioned. Staff throughout the hotel very friendly and helpful, must thank the guys at pool, great help with two young boys, played football with them kept cool with drinks. Would strongly recommend this hotel if you have children.
“good and safety swiming poll have 3 and best view”
