Private beach haven to relax

Posted 19-Mar-2015
Totally enjoyed my stay at Baan Laksasubha. The private beach is well-maintained and clean. The staff are efficient and helpful. They helped us to get a tuk-tuk to the night market which is about a 5-10 minutes ride away.

Hôtel idéalement situé

Posted 14-Feb-2015

Hotel with private beach area

Posted 27-Jan-2015
Pros: Breakfast area, private beach area.
Cons: Hotel room not as modern. Bathroom was a bit too rustic.
Location: Easy access to Hua Hin beach. About 1 KM from Hua Hin Night Market. An stretch with many restaurants nearby.
Breakfast area was pretty and near the beach area so it is very relaxing to eat with the waves lapping in the background. Nice to have a private beach area for hotel guests, with a pool (small though) facing the beach. However, many guests were hogging the sun beds.

A Decent Alternative...

Posted 19-Jan-2015
Pros: Lobby, staff are nice. Coffeehouse in the building is convenient, as is great views from the rooftop bar. Real good location. Nice breakfast.
Cons: Not sure they can do anything about the drawbacks- small rooms, noisy surroundings.
Location: You can hop on a river taxi right outside the hotel. Wat Pho and the Grand Palace are nearby.
Not being familiar with Bangkok, I figured I'd stay near the river. I read a hundred reviews, but we were trying to book for the last couple weeks of the year and were late booking, so many affordable options weren't available. Found this hotel. Cheaper than others I was considering and the pictures were alluring. Well, the hotel is pretty good, as long as you know what you are getting. In hindsight, the cheaper rate should have been a tipoff that it wasn't going to be more than "pretty good". The hotel seems to be an existing property that's been redone under recent new owners. It's right on the river, which presents nice views, but the river is real busy and can be noisy. The hotel backs up to one of the more popular market walkstreets around, which is either a plus, if you like that kind of thing, or a minus, because of the crowds and difficulty for transportation to find you or get you back to the hotel. The lobby is redone, there's a great bar on the 5-story roof, and a new coffeehouse next to the lobby facing the river. Breakfast is worth paying for, with a decent selection of veggies, meats and an omlette made to order. Great river views from that room as well. The standard rooms, however, are small and can be noisy. With a queen bed in the room, there's hardly space to turn around. Our last night there we were switched to a deluxe room, which for my money, was what a standard room size should have been. All in all, for the $60 standard rate, you can do a lot worse.

Overpriced Resort

Posted 27-Dec-2014
Pros: reasonably near to the night market with 15 mins walking time
Cons: all the above
this resort could hardly be found if you missed the little hotel signboard that shouts out for your attention. the premises is mosquitoes infested, as the flower pots are filled with water. the balcony areas are not swept and washed and the dust is super thick. condition of the room will be left to your imagination. breakfast menu was hardly changed for the 4 days of my stay, with uncooked chicken pieces and undercooked omelet despite having informed the staff. if you are wondering about the pools, do not bring a float as there will be no space for that. beach front measures 20ft and good luck if you are looking for more than that.
