Greta welcome, lovely stay.

Pros: Nice staff. "Lion's den" business centre on 2nd floor: very useful. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Excellent breakfast buffet. Free wi-fi.
Location: Middle of downtown, which frankly is a dreary place. Near the theatres and the aquarium and the episcopal cathedral. 10 minutes walk to convention ctr
Guests are welcomed personally on arrival (in am armchair, not a check in desk). Free apples at all time. Rooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean.

Great downtown location

Posted 22-Feb-2015
Pros: Good sized room
So downtown Houston doesn't have that much to offer but this hotel is well located for the Aquarium, Concert Hall and is walking distance to a range of restaurants. The welcome was warm and inviting and the room was a great size with a powerful shower.

Excellent location close to the theater

From the moment my daughter and I arrived we were treated as very special guests. The gentleman who checked us in made us feel very comfortable. Overall, our stay at The Lancaster Hotel was the best we've ever had. I will be happy to stay here again !

A calm, gorgeous stay

Posted 01-Feb-2015
Pros: Location, warmth of staff, bar, breakfast, room
Cons: Hot water situation in the morning rush
Booked a run of the mill room for a short business trip. Got to the hotel very early (2:30 p.m.ish) and had absolutely no expectations the room would be ready. Received an apology from Ryan at the front desk for same, which I told him not to worry about, and I just ate some of their fruit while I checked my e-mails. Not 10 minutes later, Ryan calls me up to check-in and while we are making small talk, tells me he is sure I will be very happy with my room. I was upgraded to the Presidential Suite, which was absolutely gorgeous and the opposite of the usual sterile presidential suite. I felt as if I were in the guest suite of a friend with very good taste. Long story short: for a low usual price for a downtown Houston room, I got a gorgeous suite, a very pleasant check-in experience, three free drink tickets (they brought a little bag in thanks for being an Expedia elite member), a couple glasses of wine at the free happy hour, and a good breakfast in the morning. All this in a beautiful setting with a truly boutique feel, and in a location that just cannot be beat. The ONLY downside: When I initially took my shower in the morning, there was no hot water. Again, did some work from the hotel, tried again a couple of hours later, and water was perfectly fine. Also he bartender at happy hour (gentleman maybe in his 50's) was incredibly gracious and warm with the crowd, which was honestly kind of a "different" (but amusing) group that night. I'll definitely be back!!

Location & Luxury

We booked the Lancaster because it is right next door to the Bayou Music Center. We went to see a show. Right when you drive up the Valet guys are extremely nice. They unload your bags and open every single door. When you check in they offer a glass of Champagne. Super nice staff :)

Luxury has its price.

Pros: covered above.
Cons: shuttle would run until midnight. Breakfast should include a few more choices such as pancakes or waffles, milk, toast of various grains.
Location: plenty of things to do if the immediate area was where your event is.
We stayed here because it was where our friends wanted to stay who had been staying there for years. We were going to see Fleetwood Mac and spend the night afterwards before driving home and back to work in the afternoon. Bed was comfortable; blackout curtains were good with the exception of at the top where light came through making them about 85% effective. We ate in the restaurant downstairs and had a delightful meal with our friends before the shuttle took us and dropped us off at the Toyota Center. We did have to walk back later due to the fact the shuttle was pulled out of duty at 11pm. The concert ended about 10:53pm. I remember the bathroom was large in comparison with most others. The lighted closet was a nice feature. If we were attending a closer event, the hotel would be perfectly placed. Breakfast was included with the price of the room, which was a tad steep for my liking, but it was the lowest point of the stay.
