“Hotel experience perfectly executed”

This hotel continues to be my favorite due to it's location and staff. It represents a relaxing oasis in the middle of a bustling commercial district and is insulated from all of it. My wife and I use this hotel for a get away even though we live in the Houston area. Self parking is free and I use the money saved to splurge on breakfast at the hotel.

“not impressed”

found the place over all tacky and cheap. I could find a better place near downtown and more chic.

Area recommendations

closer to downtown. More to do there. This was so isolated and in the boonies that it give Texas a bed name.

“Houstonian Getaway”

My wife and I stayed at the Houstonian over the weekend for our wedding anniversary. We're glad we did! There are not a lot of hotels in Houston where you have the convenience and experience of the city without feeling like you're in the city. The Houstonian was a retreat; we love all the surrounding trees and landscape and the warm, upscale, old-Houston-style facilities, especially when decorated for Christmas! The room was comfortable and the hotel restaurant, Olivette, was excellent! The on-site club, spa, work-out facilities, and trail are huge pluses as well.

“Great Hotel - Room for Improvement in Customer Service”

This is a great hotel hands down. The ambience, experience, rooms, other amenities are exceptional. The only concern I have is the level of customer service at the front desk and lack of quality maintenance staff when you have problems in your room. To qualify these statements, its very confusing to find your room and sufficient information is not provided at the front desk. A simple explanation from the front desk at check in would have prevented any problems with this. They should have told us that there are multiple elevators that don't all go to guest rooms - this would have prevented confusion. We then had a room that was 50 degrees because the A/C was on and could not be switched off and the heat would not come on. Maintenance could not fix it. Because of these problems we had to move twice. In the end, the hotel made it up to us but these initial experiences started our stay at the hotel on the wrong foot...

“Go here! It was a wonderful place to relax - and just minutes from the heart of Houston!”

We had such a great time from the minute we arrived at the Houstonian! The desk staff, workers - all were perfect. Our room was picturesque - we slept so comfortable as the bed was excellent. Our 4-day stay was flawless and we will definitely stay at the Houstonian again.

Houston is full of things to do - you will not be bored! The Galleria is just minutes away - and lots of great restaurants really close.

“Perfect place to unwind and chill”

I've always wanted to stay at The Houstonian and finally booked a mini spa break with my daughter. The Trellis was a fabulous spa with the perfect pre and post services amenities. Our room was elegantly comfortable and luxe. The addition of privileges to The Houstonian Club for group workouts was a great perk and the three pools made sitting and reading a summer thriller fun. We opted for the concierge floor which is so worth the upcharge. Our vehicle never left the garage until we checked out marveling that our visit was short but felt decadently posh. Not easy leaving this spot of dreamy dreams behind.
