“Good Value for Money”
I visit the Energy Corridor on business most weeks and stay in variouse budget hotels. The Red Roof Inn is as good as any and better than most.
“Not impressed this time around”
Usually I stay at this hotel, I have been staying there at least one weekend a month, This past stay was by far my worst stay. The restroom was really bad. I put my daughter in the shower and when I went to close the curtain it was stuck. I noticed that rod was broke and split all along it. The next day I took my daughter to the zoo and when we got back we noticed that room service made one bed and left one unmade(which was no biggie) when my daughter went to the restroom the toilet would not flush. I also noticed that housekeeping left handtowels instead of bath towels. I went down to the front desk and asked for bath towels. I also wanted to see about maybe switching rooms but i over heard the front desk lady tell another customer all she had was king beds only. I asked her if anybody has ever complained about the restroom in 210 she said "why" I explained to her that the toilet was not flushing right and that nothing, not even toilet paper would go down. she looked at me and said " oh yeah you need to throw the toilet paper in the trash and hold the button down, thats what the lady said" I asked her who told her and she said the lady. I could not figure out who she was talking about. I then told her that if that needed to be done than maybe they should put a sign up. I told her that i held the button down for a good 3 minutes and nothing, she asked me if i needed a plunger, i told her there was one in the room and it would not help' i just got tired trying to explain it
“Red Roof Inn...yuck!!!”
We needed a quick, affordable room at last minute while out of town waiting on a delayed cruise ship in nearby Galveston. First, we requested a queen bed, non-smoking room when booking. When we checked in, the employee told us they were now out of queen beds, but would get us in a twin bed non-smoking. What we got was a twin double that had NOT been cleaned. Sheets on the bed were in disarray, toilet was backed up(eeew), and cigarette butts in a makeshift ashtray(plastic cup). Not to mention the smell that greeted us when opening the door. We called the front office and he switched us to a...(surprise!) queen non-smoking. The room could have used some updating and better cleaning, but for what we paid for, we received. It did suffice for giving us a bed and shower to use for the night at an affordable price. I just wouldn't recommend it for anything else.
“Awful”
The towles had hair in them, the mirror was smudgy. UGLY!!! Should be closed asap!!!!!
“All Smoking Rooms!”
Apparently ALL rooms in this hotel are smoking! And I must have gotten the 'smoking-est' of them all. Had to wash all my clothes, even unused ones, after 1 night there - the stench just wouldn't go away.
“Nasty towels”
The towels in this hotel where dirty. FUll of dirt and hair. That was just plain nasty. The door lock did not work, I called maintenance to fix it, and she kicked the door to open it.
“Worst dump I ever stayed in.”
Hallways spelled of mold and urine. Staff was rude and lied to me. Wake up calls were asked on 2 occasions and not recieved. Maid service was missed on two days. Bed felt as if it was used as a landing pad for george bush international airport. Free WiFi? I don't think so. you have to go to the front desk to get a card. If they are out of cards, you do not get free WiFi. This running out of cards happened to me on 3 occasions. I was also told by the staff that if i paid for the wifi service through thtier hotel, i would be reimbursed upon checkout. This too was a lie. I lost 15 dollars because i trusted them about the " Free WIFI" reimbursement.
“Never recommend this to anyone you know”
Hotel was hard to locate from the freeway and difficult to reach from the freeway. Entire block of parking places in front of rooms were blocked for some reason. Staff was unprofessional and not helpful. Had to pay to use "free wifi" (10 per minute!) because my room had 2 doubles rather than a king size bed. Ridiculous.oom was dirty, no lamp on table, Cable service was confusing and hard to easily determine popular channels. Bath tub was missing drain cover. No ice or water for drinking easily accessible. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone and I will never stay with Red Roof Inns again.
“No front desk clerk”
Arrived about 10:30 pm to check in. No front desk clerk. Waited about 30 minutes. Someone came down. Said "he does that." Clerk finally appeared. No explanations or apologies. Despite some other qualities (tiny but clean room, comfortable bed), we won't stay at another Red Roof again. If you like gambling, you'll like taking your chances on the service.
