Good location but understaffed

Posted 27-Jul-2014
Hotel is in good location and good but not great condition. Valet parking was terrible, hotel was understaffed with poor front desk service with no concierge and no bell staff. General management was poor. Breakfast was marginal and there was a general inability to get decent food at or around the hotel. Overall our experience was one not to be repeated for the cost.

Nice hotel walking distance to minute maid park

Posted 22-Jul-2014
We were given a handicap room, why? I'm not sure. Taking a shower in that tub was absolutely ridiculous as the shower head is 5ft or less (right in my face). When we requested a room change they told us,"we don't have anything else available". (They had a wedding party staying at the hotel & Beyonce was having a concert at Minute Maid Park. So they were booked). Mind you that we made this reservation 2 months ago!! They told us,"we may be able to switch you to another room tomorrow". My husband called later that night to complain and they compensated us by upgrading us to a Studio the next day. The Studio was awesome. Beware of the handicap rooms. Also, we went to the complimentary happy hour which was pretty busy and the waitress forgot to put in our food order. I had to ask how much longer on the food and she brought it out. Quesadillas were soggy so she comped them. Overall our stay was pleasant except for those 2 hiccups.

Awesome, Beautiful hotel close to Minute Maid Park

Posted 21-Jul-2014
It was beautiful, clean, smelled so good upon entering, staff was extremely kind and attentive. The breakfast buffet was delicious so much variety of different foods for every age, that was my kids favorite part of the hotel besides the pool up on the rooftop. Vallet Parking guys were awesome as well, very kind. Shuttle service is the best part they take you anywhere in the downtown area. It was an amazing experience I stayed there for the Beyoncé concert and I don't have any regrets. After the concert I enjoyed the fireplace in the lobby no one bothered me at all, I asked for extra blankets they were up in my room in less then 5 mins. I'll stay there again on my next trip when Queen B performs again :)

Part of the Astros experience

Posted 17-Jul-2014
We always look forward to Astros weekends because we get to stay at the Magnolia! Walk to the game, come back to the hotel for happy hour, then walk to any number of great restaurants. You might get back in time for milk and cookies in the lounge. Clean, comfortable, beautiful rooms in a great location at a reasonable price. What more can you ask for?

Great Location and enjoyed the amenities

Enjoyed the happy hours, complimentary cookies and breakfast. Close to restaurant and Minute Maid. The AC in our room did not cool very well but we were never uncomfortably hot.

Downtown Hotel

Posted 06-Jul-2014
This is an extremely nice hotel with great freebies like a full breakfast, night time cookies & milk and 2 free drinks at happy hour. The only negative thing about the area is parking is very expensive. Street parking is free from 645 to 7am then it costs $2/or and valet parking is I think $28 a night.
