We had our wedding reception at this hotel and celebrated our 1 year anniversary here. The experience we had on both occasions was phenomenal. We absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone!

Excellent hotel in great location!

Posted 17-Nov-2014
Every time we visit downtown Houston, we stay at the Magnolia. Great location, close to everything. Rooms are always clean and comfortable, staff is very friendly and helpful. And we love the evening happy hour and cookies and milk before bedtime!

Pleasant - but understaffed

Posted 17-Nov-2014
Pros: Not sure I will stay here again.
Cons: The noise from the second level bar/restaurant is often very loud when walking through the lobby. Not a relaxing atmosphere.
Waited in line for about 15 minutes to check in. On the morning of check out, discovered they had tacked on a valet parking charge to my bill - despite the fact that I arrived in a taxi. A little disappointed that this was automatically added rather than added upon request for the service.

Pros: The staff was very friendly , and the breakfast buffet was a very nice bonus
Cons: They scheduled a Wedding that reserved the entire lounge area for Friday night and Sat . night , would have changed res with that info
Location: Downtown Houston , close to everything . Mass transit was a block away , very convenient. There where several bars and restaurants within walkin dis
we arrived early on a Friday night , the room was already available and the extra roll away bed was there as well .

Fantastic Hotel in Downtown Houston.

Posted 04-Nov-2014
Pros: The complimentary breakfast is good, free drinks at Happy Hour, free milk and cookies at 8.30pm. The hotel has a free shuttle within Downtown Houston.
Cons: The breakfast cutlery. It was OK but could do with upgrading.
Location: The hotel is within walking distance of the George Brown convention centre, Milkmaid Stadium, Toyota centre and Theatre District.
This is a great place to stay. The staff are incredibly helpful, friendly and caring. The beds were comfortable and the room spacious and clean. Plenty of fresh towels and a spacious bathroom. We stayed for Quilt Market and Festival and it was a great location and very good value. We used the 102 Airport Metro shuttle ($1.25) and the stop was a five minute walk away. Trams were a few minutes away on Main Street and we made use of the free Green bus in Downtown. The complementary breakfast included scrambled eggs, bacon, biscuit, potatoes, gravy, fresh fruit, yogurts, cereals and various breads for toast. Plenty of coffee, water, orange juice and apple juice. The lifts are fast. The views from the rooftop garden are impressive. This would be my number 1 choice for Houston again.

Nice downtown hotel

Posted 24-Oct-2014
Location: Include valet parking in room cost.
A nice hotel...that held a guest appreciation party the first night we arrived. It was a great time...lots of food..drink and fun events throughout the hotel. Overall it was a great hotel...but it would have been nice to have valet parking included in the cost...as they were a little slow in getting our car to us each time we needed it...whether we texted in advance..or not.

Snazzy smell and water upon entrance

They would shuttle us back and forth from Toyota Center for a small tip. Breakfast was decent and included in price. No rollaway bed for our extra guest.

love the magnolia

Posted 14-Oct-2014
Pros: ambiance, staff are very nice, clean
Cons: breakfast...cut fruit would be nice. would be great if they didn't take forever to replenish. i think the kitchen manager should be aware of traffic
Location: downtown houston is revitalized, close to museums and parks as well as night life
love this hotel! breakfast was a little cold and had to wait for them to replenish but it wouldn't stop us from returning.

Nice Hotel, close to everything

Posted 14-Oct-2014
Easy check in, all accommodations met. Hotel staff was very friendly. They have a nice happy hour with free wine and beer. Also, they have fresh cookies and milk at night. Not bad. I asked for a room with on a high floor with an awesome view and they totally met my expectations. The spacious room on the 19th floor had a view of Downtown. Anytime I head back to Houston, this will be the spot.
