“ok experience”

I found this hotel to be extremely noisy, mostly due to the housekeeping staff in the morning hours. In addition, the shuttle driver was rude when I had misunderstood the shuttle hour intervals and took me to my location begrudgingly with lots of complaining.

“Business stay”

The hotel is conveniently located and parking ($6 fee for self-parking) is easily accessable. I had to communicate with another party via computer conferencing. The free WiFi service was very slow and would not have been sufficient. However, there is a tower right next to the hotel. Therefore my personal 4G connection was blazingly fast. Apart from that, the suite was very nice with comfortable beds, a nice bathroom and a living room and kitchen. The only negative: the walls and the door were thin and one could hear guests in the other rooms. However, it was quiet during the night. Overall, I can recommend it and would go there again.

Montrose for food. The village for a drink and some shopping.

“Served my needs”

Wasn't as clean as when I stayed before. However, the service is excellent and the shuttle to MD Anderson Cancer Center and to nearby stores is fantastic. Free internet service in the Business office could be another reason to stay if you don't have a laptop or tablet.. Would stay here again for these reasons but I will not have as high expectations as from my last stay.

Area recommendations

Rice Village (nice stores and restaurants) or the Galleria (expensive).

“MDA Access Hotel: good location”

we needed to have medical treatment at MD Anderson. This Hotel is ideally situated and I enjoyed also the access to the nearby health club for workout purposes.

Nice rooms convenient to area hospitals. Shuttle service was good- except there are no shuttles to the airport. No continental breakfast.

“Great place to stay for Rice parents”

We have stayed at the hotel for the last two years. Last year, it was to take our child to Rice for a campus visit, this year to move in. We arrived at HI this year to be greeted by name. Duston was working the front desk, and he was just as helpful this year as he was last year. The hotel is somewhat dated, but it was perfect for our needs. The hospitality shown by staff makes you feel at home. Our room was clean and every thing was as advertised. If you are looking for 5 star hotel, this isnt it. But if you are an apprehensive Rice parent or a patient at the Medical Center, this is the perfect place for you. One slight negative, wish on property restaurant had better menu, but they offer shuttle service to many local restaurants.

“The extras are extra”

This hotel has no "extras." They charge $6 per night for parking, there is no free breakfast buffet (and the breakfast buffet in the restaurant is way overpriced), and the front desk staff, while friendly, did not seem to be overly knowledgeable about the surrounding area. Having said that, the hotel is comfortable, well-maintained, and in an excellent location.

“Do not take breakfast at this hotel...”

1. The website listed the hotel with rooms starting from (the website does not allow me to post the rate so please check yourself) USD. Probably this is from the previous millennium (1999 or earlier)...I ended by paying about 50 % more per night for a 2 bed room, breakfast included (do not ever believe a website). 2. I did pay for a room with breakfast included. I did not have a free breakfast. The hotel provided 20 USD (this was clearly marked on the document received from the hotel) per day per room for the breakfast. For a single guest it is OK. For two guests the price is ranging between 25 and 35 USD per day and a tip that is hunted by the waiter. For 3 or more persons...please go to a good restaurant...this place is a bad joke! Hence, be ready to take out of the pocket some money if the number of guests per room is equal or larger than 2. 3. The breakfast does not deserve the price. For this money you can pick a good restaurant/ cafeteria to eat or another hotel. I would cancel all the stars of this hotel for this lie. 4. The hotel was clean. Unfortunately when we arrived they just upgraded the TVs and hence the hallways was full of old TVs and boxes. The hotel did not handle this too well but that was a temporary discomfort. NOTE: I do not agree with the policy that requires to avoid specific rates in the review, but I did my best to obey it.
