“Great Place to Stay for Rice University Parents”

This was a perfect place to stay while attending Parent Weekend at Rice University. The rooms are clean, spacious and every room is a suite with a living room and an extra 1/2 bath. The beds are very comfortable with nice fluffy comforters. Free Wi-Fi that works. It is very close and convenient to Rice University and the Rice Village. I would stay here again.

“Suite room is good but”

the service people could be more customer-oriented to meet customer's real need. For instance, i requested for a suite room (two double beds) and I made clear that there are two adults and one kid. We anticipated that the sofa in the living room is really the sofa bed (as advertised online). However it is not the case and the front desk told us that only some rooms have the sofa bed.

Area recommendations

Around Rice University and Medical Center area. You don't get a lot ofhighway / traffic here and so the surrounding is pretty quiet.

“Could be better”

I just stayed for a night and it wasn't that great and it wasn't bad. The hotel is clean and the staffs are friendly. The room on the other hand was humid, the A/C blowing luke warm air and noisy, and the sheets were damp (maybe because the room was humid.) I did find a small patch of mold forming on the ceiling above the vent. Other than that, the bathroom was clean and well lit, and the bed was comfortable. At the time of our stay, we called in about the A/C problem and they were well aware of the issues and someone was working on the problem. Overall the experience was good, but could of been better. I've been in several hotels at this price point and they offer way more services/features, even tv channels than this one.

“Hilton and no hot water?”

Booked at this hotel for little comfort before a big interview only to find little comfort during my stay! I had two days of no hot water, not even warm. After letting the front desk know the first day the problem was fixed, or so I thought. The next morning the room was back to no hot water and the response from the front desk was let the water run for at least 10 minutes and it may warm up and I was told there is nothing else that can be done. After the 10 minutes, the water was still cold. The front desk provided the number for the GM and after multiple connections and a message I have not received a response from him. Needless to say, I will never recommend a Hilton, nor stay at one again after this experience.

“Great Choice near the Medical Center”

The 2 room suites are perfect for a stay near the Medical Center. 1 block away is the train to downtown and there are plenty of taxis so no car needed.

“Poor Ventilation”

Sleeping was very difficult because of the loud ventilation system which could not be turned off at night because the windows cannot be opened!

“A Nice Slice of Houston”

The room was neat & clean. The service from the counter staff was good, including providing transport to Hobby, & the meal we had in the dining room was excellent

“Non-smoking rooms are not really non-smoking”

I will not go to this hotel again. I requested a non-smoking room. But the room they gave me (in fact the whole floor) has pretty strong smoking smell. I asked them, and they maintained that the hotel is 100% smoking free. While that is true, I also later heard that the rooms were smoking rooms before, and that explains why it smells so terrible. My room even contained a notice saying that "Do not smoke in bed". I guess you won't put such a notice in a non-smoking room. Even a few days after I left, my clothing smells smoke. Terrible experience.

“comfortable, friendly and good value”

This was a very comfortable and clean hotel with friendly and helpful staff just two blocks from the hospital district and close to Rice University. The food was good and good value as well.

“Wow”

Wow what can I say. The staff was wonderful. I needed something from the gift shop they offered to open it for me. I called down and ask for something and it was at my door in less than 5 mins. I stay at a lot of hotels this was one of the best.

Take your time and look around. Not far from here are some wonderful places to eat.
