“Great Hotel”

“Wait till the Fall”

Lobby of the hotel is very nice, almost boutique hotel Chic. My guest room was another story. I literally counted three different patches in the carpet that were poorly done, and there were four to five patches that looked like auto grease (very dark and black) had been ground into the carpet. The threshold into the bathroom was filthy and stained ( I was glad I brought flip flops with me). I complained to the front desk and they told me that the guest rooms are being completely gutted in the next few months and they apologize for the current condition. The room rate was very very reasonable so I accepted my plight. I am a frequent business traveler and I was very shocked to see a Marriott guest room in this condition.

“multiple bad experiences”

- the carpet floor near the bathroom sink was soaking wet - the door at the entrance of our hotel room had a big gap underneath it, which meant that we enjoyed a super bright light shining into our room all night, YAY - no hot water in the morning, nothing like an ice cold shower, THANKS!

“Met expectations”

Just stayed overnight for a family event. Room was nice to come back to. The staff was very nice. They were concerned about security and were very attentive to our family's needs. It's possibly a little bit older hotel, but for why we were there, it met our expectations.

“Comfortable stay”

Enjoyed our stay at this location. Front desk people were friendly and helpful. No traffic noise from nearby interstate hwy. Easy access to interstate hwy. Good restaurants within 2 blocks of location. Convenient location for us to visit relatives. Comfortable bed.

“OwlCon 2010 stay”

We got to the hotel late afternoon. The room looked very nice and clean. It was a little bigger than I expected which is nice. They had a paid breakfast which was great. The only issue we had was that the ac would not stay on. The first morning I spoke to the staff and they left a message that it was fixed. We got in really late and it seemed to be working until about 2am. My roommate was sleeping well, but I could not sleep without ac or some air circulation. The next morning we checked out and I told the staff that we still had a problem with the ac. No real comment or anything from staff.

“Very convenient location”

This hotel is near a residential area and yet is close to shopping centers and restaurants. Like most Courtyards it is well maintained and is very clean. The only negative about this hotel is the short staff after 11:00 p.m.

Traveller's tip

I would recommend driving down Kirby to the Rice University shopping center where you will find many nice restaurants, bookstores, and children's and adult's boutiques.
