Great location but small rooms

Posted 20-Jun-2015
The hotel location is great especially if you take into consideration the price. However, you have to pay parking fees ($21 for overnight parking). The club rooms are really small. Smaller than you will ever imagine. The bathrooms are big, nice, and clean. Don't order food from their restaurant. They over charge for delivering food to your room.

It was a satisfactory experience until I encountered a front desk attendant who helped me with my checkout. I approached the front desk to proceed with the checkout, and he asked me for the room number. I gave it to him and told him I had my car valeted. However, he couldn't locate the car in the system, even though it was entered into the system at check-in, so he re-entered the car info, produced a receipt, and handed it over to me. So far so good. Then I noticed unfamiliar charges on the receipt and realized he checked out a wrong room. Mistakes happen. Still so far so good. Then he produced another -- this time, the correct room's -- receipt but he decided to toss it -- not place it -- on the desk as if he were saying he was irritated about checking out the wrong room. No word came out of his mouth, no apology, no goodbye, no thank you for staying, nothing. Just that irritated look on his face. This certainly was one excellent way to ruin one's otherwise pleasant travel experience.

Very small rooms, cleaning not done

Posted 12-Jun-2015
Pros: front desk helpful
Cons: size of room, availability of towels, room cleaning
We were disappointed. The room was very small, towels minimal (2 bath towels, no bath mat until we requested it, no hand towels. The list of rooms that needed cleaning must have been taken the night before, because when we took off the "privacy" sign at 8am, we assumed they would see we changed our mind and went to breakfast early. When we returned later in the day, the bed was not made, bathroom not clean. In a room that small, messiness matters. Coffee was available in the lobby (that's good) but the small snack they provided, a health bar, had run out by 9:30 am.

convenient to training site

okay experience. Had to wait over an hour to be put in room due to system being down somewhere, so they say. Nice room with nice view. Waitress at Table 7 Bistro was very rude, never made eye contact, never asked if she could wait on me yet asked other customers.

Not what i expected

Posted 09-Jun-2015
Thought this would be a good hotel given the 4.1 rating then things kept adding up. So what ever price your given...add $150 for "incidentals" then expect to lose $20 a day of that for valet parking which is unavoidable. The valet is ok during the day (i only had to use it once in the day) but at night it takes forever to get your car back and one in particular was very rude and picking his nose before he realized that the car was mine. The front desk people (night time again) act like they could care less. I had to call 3x to get all my questions answered because they kept hanging up the phone thinking i was done. They told me a maintenace guy would come up to help with the tv and he never came. There were small hairs (idk from what body part) in the towels and wash clothes. Room was comfy enough though. But i will never be staying there again

Downtown Houston is having a revival. Lots of construction and cranes working.

Ok location. Bistro is good to have in the hotel.

Posted 05-Jun-2015
Pros: On the main street but very quiet, good window insulation. Free Wi-Fi is great. Bistro attached, reasonable prices.
Cons: Need a little TLC. Housekeeping was not good. I stayed 3 nights and they only provided the one set of toiletries. One day they left no towels!!!
Location: Relatively near the convention center. You can hop on the metro. Restaurants within walking distance.
As far as hotels go it was OK. It is along the lines of a boutique hotel. Rooms were VERY small. Bathroom only has a shower but adequate if you are traveling alone. I think too small if there is 2 of you.

Great location, but underwhelming

Posted 03-Jun-2015
For the price, these rooms are TINY. There's something my friend and I couldn't put a finger on. Everything just seemed kind of shabby and dingy. It may be that other times, the prices were lower and there is more of a tradeoff, but I would not stay here again and was very disappointed for the price.

Nice hotel in downtown Houston

The room was clean, functional but small. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay here the next time I come to downtown Houston.
