“Highly Recommend!”

I was slightly worried after I booked and paid for our room after looking at the pictures online... but was put a little at ease with all of the positive reviews. Once we got to the condo and checked in, I was blown away. It was extremely family friendly. The staff was very pleasant and very accommodating. We didn't have a single issue with our room, the location, nor any of the staff. I highly recommend this hotel/condo and plan on staying here in the future. I loved the seclusion of the property. It is literally a stand-alone hotel structure housing all of the condo units. There are no other properties within a one-half mile anywhere up or down the beach. (While all the other housing places are stacked up on one another further down the island). This is right on the beach... there is a sand wall and then the beach is down from that. Very nice location. Everything about this place is great.

“Two bedroom ocean view, well worth the cost”

We were looking for a two bedroom suite, traveling with our two children (aged four and one) and they are in short supply in the area. We chose Island House for that reason and whilst there wasn't a great deal to do locally, both the hotel complex and more specifically the room were very well kitted out and enabled us to relax with plenty of room for the kids to move around (note: no child cribs available, take a travel cot). Self catering was easy and whilst there was no restaurant on-site (BBQ facilities only) there were plenty within a short driving distance. The ocean view room (#217) had a large balcony, which was perfectly safe for the kids. It was a little exposed to what seemed to be a strong prevailing wind from the east, but the south-western end of the complex at least offered some shelter. The price we paid is well worth it and we would recommend a stay there. On the down-side, it can be pretty lively on the beach at night, which won't suit everyone, but is not too much of an issue for the weekend, depending on what you're looking for.
