“Great for sightseeing!”

This hotel was ideal for those on a relatively tight budget for a short stay in San Francisco. Room was spotless and housekeeping did a great job. Although perhaps in some need of refurbishment upstairs, don't let this put you off as there was nothing wrong, it just looked a little tired. Pool area was clean and attractive. Parking, although charged, was secure and well lit. Felt safe walking round area. Would definitely recommend.

“great budget option”

To be honest I wasn't expecting much with the hotel, but I was extremely pleased with the Cathedral Hill Hotel - clean, friendly staff and central location (not far from City Hall) Getting a Citypass meant that the hotel was on a main bus route to take you to the main stomping grounds around the city.

“Not Impressed”

The hotel lobby was misleading, as it was smart and clean. Our room was in a bad state of repair, with loose wires and a musty smell, though the beds were clean and comfortable. There was chewing gum on the carpet, which was also burnt by cigarettes (this was a 'no smoking' room! Noisy plumbing and doors slamming, together with traffic din did not help.

“Not very impressed”

My first impression of this hotel was not very good as I found the receptionist to be rude and abrupt on check-in. I was also disappointed in the general standard of decor in the hotel (very dated and shabby) as it looked much more impressive in the photos on the website. Overall I do not feel that the hotel was good value for money and would not recommend it to anyone.
