“very good location - and nothing more”
the only good thing is the location of the hotel, rooms are tiny, the staff at reception not friendly, and there is no wifi in rooms - you get a 1 meter lan cable which makes it impossible to use computer/internet on the bed or even the floor, oh and its very slow (1mbit at best) anyway. its ok for hongkong standard after what we heard
“Very Impressed”
We were very impressed with this Hotel. The location was opposite the Hong Kong Zoo and Botanical Garden which was a very relaxing place to stroll through. The Hotel was within walking distance to Central Hong Kong where we could catch the MRT to the mainland and Airport. There was also a bus service to Central as well. Taxis were plentiful and cheap. The Peak Tram was within walking distance from the Hotel. Also in the other direction was the "longest escalator in the world" that would get you downtown before 10am and return after 10;20am. The Hotel was in a very good position and we would definitely stay there if we visit Hong Kong again!
“Very good hotel for the price”
The Hotel is not a five star at all but for the price is a very good option. It is very well located in the midle level of the city. I recomend to use taxi that is cheap and allows you to see more of the city. It is the Hong Kong's best price hotel.
“Qingyu”
It's good for the price.
“great for the price!”
clean and big for a hong kong hotel. great deal for the price. water pressure was splendid and the water heat was perfect. located on the outskirts of central but a 5-10 min cab ride can get you there in no time.
“Would definately go back”
clean spacious rooms, value for money & highly recommended.
“Keep coming back”
I've stayed at this hotel twice and I seriously LOVE it, the most recent trip, I stayed for about two weeks. It's super clean and modern, the beds are comfy, and the bathroom is very clean as well! It's quiet because it's a bit up the hill from the hustle and bustle of the city, so it's a great place to come back to after a long day in HK. Easy to catch taxis (there are usually a few waiting right outside), a short walk down to the bus that will take you to Central (the bus makes a stop right in front of an MTR station); or you can take a taxi ride to the MTR station in Central or Admiralty, super close and cheap. I always take a taxi from the MTR station to the hotel because it is quite a walk uphill. There is a grocery store next door that's good for snacks, water and cup noodles! The hotel room offers a mini fridge and an electric water kettle to make hot water. There is no wifi in the rooms (unless you get super lucky and catch someone's signal) but they offer internet at a pretty low price. Bottom line: this is my first choice of hotels to stay at whenever I'm in HK, awesome rates, awesome location and awesome rooms.
“Simple but nice.”
This is the 2nd time I stayed in this hotel. Simple but very clean which is exactly what I was looking for. Front desk people are competent, friendly and professional. Plus a view of Central if you're facing that side. I would stay in this hotel again.
“Overall great! A few drawbacks.”
Overall this hotel is great, especially for the reasonable price. The rooms were very clean and seemed to be recently renovated. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was good, the TV was good, the staff friendly and useful. All in all, very good, and I would definitely stay again. There's also a good grocery next door and a park across the street. A few notes / drawbacks though. *It is a YWCA property, but the staff or other guests didn't seem bothered at all that I was a single male. Many of the guests seemed to be couples travelling and businesspeople, both men and women. *There is no WiFi in the rooms, which was annoying. I would walk across the street to the park where there is free WiFi, but this free park WiFi seemed to never work late at night. *There is a sign in the lobby that says "No Guests in Rooms After 11PM", but it doesn't seem like they had any way to actually enforce this. *The hotel looks pretty close to Central on a map, but it's actually quite a hike by foot. It's confusing the first few times to get the walking directions correct, and once you get the hang of it, it's still annoying because the roads are not particularly pedestrian-friendly and it's uphill on the way to the hotel. That said, energetic people will be just fine walking it.... I just started using Taxis, which are readily accessible and very cheap. By Taxi it's actually very very close to both Central and Admiralty. Overall, very good hotel for the reasonable price. Highly recommended.
“good value and convenient”
Good experience - room very comfortable and clean with all that you would need - great location next to the Botanical gardens and an easy 10-15 min walk into center of town or quick taxi ride. Pleasant staff and adequate if not inspiring breakfast - at extra charge. Only real problem was no business center with one computer by a YWCA work desk which made connecting difficult if you didn't have computer with you. Also no restaurants near by so you need to eat in town but otherwise the facilities were very good and reasonably priced in comparison with other hotels. I would definately stay there again or recommend it.
